Giveaway and garden winners

My summer jewellery giveaway closed last night and I sorted out the number of names to go in the hat. Some people had 1 entry others 2 and some 3 as they had also shared it on their own blogs. Thank you everyone who entered my jewellery giveaway. All the names went into my straw hat ...Billy adjudicated

and my Hb as soon as he walked in from work was made to do the drawing. M pulled out.........

The lovely Susan of  Mary Jane's Tearoom

Very well done Susan and I think you should buy a lottery ticket (Susan was one of my winners in my last giveaway). Susan and I often joke that we have several parallels in our lives including daughters studying/studied medicine and even that the initial of her blog are the same as my Hbs :0)  I hope you enjoy wearing your summery necklace (or giving it as a gift) as much as I enjoyed making it.  I am sorry that there can only be one winner but there will be another giveaway soon. Thanks also for leaving such kind comments on my anniversaries post, I really loved reading every single one of them. BTW if you are quick Susan has a giveaway on her own lovely blog at the moment....pop on over there and join the fun.

My other winnings today are from my garden. The lovely hot sunshine has brought everything on so much.
My pots this year have been spectacular
I have grown some new plants, cucamelons and asparagus peas which are coming along well, more of these in another post
My aubergines are like purple jewels hanging from their stems.

Pretty  trailing petunia
Jackanapes viola which my Mum bought me.This old variety as an amazing cottage garden scent to it.
,
 Chillies in lots of varieties
This purple variety is called fairy lights...don't let the gentle name deceive you...it is soo hot!
I even have a couple of squash. My Dad grew the plants from seeds.
I have lots of gorgeous green peppers which I am leaving on the plants to turn red as I much prefer the sweetness of a red pepper.
 Ever reliable runner beans....
and this year I tried some mange tout...now these are delicious and next year I plan to grow more of these.
and my tomatoes are just about ripening.

So it's winners all round then in the garden too.

My card challenge for today takes it's inspiration from my sunny garden. I have used my favourite Bella sleeping by Wild Rose Studios. It is a new baby boy card and is for sale here in my Etsy shop
I have used lots of bright sunny colours and butterflies.
I have make an embossed background with the blue card. The small butterflies are Martha Stewart. The large one is my favourite Cheery Lynn exotic butterfly. There are also some Cheery Lynn Olive branches cut in yellow and green.

You can also see in this close up a blue heart button tied with green twine which matches the green gingham ribbon. I LOVE gingham ribbon. The sentiment in LOTV.
I have coloured my stamp with Promarkers and highlighted with Prismacolor pencils.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Thanks for visiting and a very warm welcome to my recent new followers. It's so good to see everyone here and that you take the time to leave so many sweet comments. I hope you all have a lovely weekend...we have one more big treat coming up on Saturday..we are being taken as guests to Ascot to see some more horse racing. I am so excited after my introduction to horse racing at Glorious Goodwood  recently. Having never been racing before to get the opportunity to attend twice in as many weeks is an incredibly lucky coincidence..perhaps I should be buying that lottery ticket along with Susan.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

  1. Congrats to Susan, she's a very lucky lady! 😃
Goodness your garden is looking great Jane, those aubergines are amazing, I think Surrey must be sub tropical now! My tomatoes are still green and they're in a greenhouse. Certainly your weather in the south of England is a great boon to growing veg!
I do love that little elephant!
Have a wonderful weekend at Ascot!!

  11. Your garden is so much farther along than mine, but I have gotten a tomato and a cucumber. You also seem to have put your garden together in a more esthetically pleasing way too. Oh well, maybe I'll try harder next year. You're an inspiration! Nice card, and I hope you have a great time at the races too.

Your garden looks delicious, I have aubergines envy as mind are a bit pathetic this year :( I'm sorry I was too late for the giveaway, I pretty much stopped blog reading on the run up to our holiday as I was so very busy, but thank you for letting me about it in the comment you left on mine. Well done Susan. I am quite looking forward to the boys being back at school and finally reading everyones posts as they happen!

    Lovely card.
