Floral confetti

May has arrived and the flowers everywhere are so spectacular. We are off to baby sit Daisy today whilst her Mummy and Daddy attend a wedding which has a no children rule. We are setting up a base at their hotel room and will need to "deliver" Daisy for occasional  feeds if needed but we hope she may take her bottle and the little bit of solids she has started. Our ultimate goal is for us to keep her happy from 2.30-9pm, fingers crossed.

The sight of all the beautiful blossoms around made me think that it resembled confetti everywhere.
So pretty now that the hawthorn "may is out"
and the "candles" on the horse chestnut stand high and proud. Little conkers are in the making.

even above my studio, the blossom confetti is ready to fly.

My card today is a wedding card and it is the very one I have made for my daughter's friend. It is a white on white (WOW) card and these are so difficult to photograph, they are much prettier in real life.

I have stamped this lovely Lili of the Valley sentiment in black ink and used lots of lovely white die cuts. The butterfly, heart and the leaves in the corners are all Cheery Lynn. The backing paper has been embossed to give lots of lovely layers to the card.
I wish the happy couple all the love in the world.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Natalie and Amy Rubber stamping
Die Cut Divas embellishments add at least one, I have used ribbon and gems on the wings of the butterfly.
Crafty Little Fairies In the garden
Country View Challenges Nature's Glories
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge anything goes
Cheery Lynn bling it up
A creative romance Use scraps all my die cuts were cut using scraps of white card from my scrap box
Crafty Card Makers insect as a focal
Allsorts Butterflies

I hope to get also some gardening and crafting time over the bank holiday weekend. The weather does look fairly promising, the sky is blue this morning and the sun is shining. I may be able to get the lawn cut tomorrow. I have also bought some gorgeous agate beads and pearls so I want to get some summer jewellery made.  There are lots of new fun card challenges out for May so I have plenty to fill any of my spare time.

Enjoy the bank holiday everyone and welcome to May. Summer is approaching ;0

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

I'm still waiting on the hawthorn here, I'm keeping a close eye on it, don't want to miss a photo opportunity and maybe a 'new girl' to celebrate it! :)
Enjoy your day of baby minding . :)
Happy bank holiday weekend my friend.

  5. Hello Jane! I do hope Miss Daisy is happy through the wedding. I'm sure you will charm her and keep her attention diverted while Mum and Dad enjoy the wedding. We have the same tree blooms here - we have a few hawthorn trees and the cherry and apple, too. I'm off to visit Mt. Hood.. photos to follow!

  6. Love all the die-cuts you've used to make a wonderful background (not overdone, but just right). Beautiful card and I can imagine how beautiful it is in real life. I especially like that heart. I've never seen it used before.

  13. Hi Jane,
I hope your baby-sitting adventure went well! The wedding card is really lovely.

I also enjoyed your last post of the museum and the "Cheapside Hoard" exhibit. How wonderful that the pieces were discovered.

I'm watching the new seasons of "Call the Midwives" and "Mr. Selfridge" on Sunday nights now---it's interesting to see your images of London today.

    Happy May!

  16. Hello dear Jane,

I wish you had a lovely Daisy-day, and the happy parents had great time in the wedding! The card you made is so pretty, I like all-white -style, wedding cards tend to be pink and such (not that I wouldn't like that too!), that is such a glassy card.

We have some sunshine here today, I am sending some your way just in case you need it!

    Yours,
    Mia

  18. Good morning, Jane! Hope you had a wonderful bank holiday weekend, especially your day babysitting Daisy Jane!
We had quite a lazy weekend - I was making the most of it as every Saturday has something planned for the next 8 weeks! I desperately need to get out in my garden, but it needs 'proper' gardening - digging and landscaping, and I don't know if my back can take it! Everywhere is looking beautiful though and it's nice to see such colour starting to appear - the blossom is just stunning at the moment and I even got a bit on my ornamental cherry!
Love your beautiful WOW wedding card - so elegant! Hugs, Lisa x
