My final Tim Tag project of 2014, Jane's Journal style

Well it's hard to believe but I have finished the last tag for 2014. Tim has inspired me so much this year and I want to thank him for really giving me a new direction with my crafting. I have played with so many types of media and produced this set of 12 tags/ cards.
The eagle eyed  will be able to see part of my new one for December.

For this month's tag Tim used his gorgeous deer die to create his masterpiece. If you would like to see his tag and tut have a peep here. He used a new product called frosted which I am afraid I had not even heard of so I had to have a little think of how I could capture some of the essence of his gorgeous winter tag to make a Christmas card. I really loved the colours he used and I tried to produce something along his lines. I also loved the snowflake charm so wanted to bring that in too. Instead of using Frosted to give a snowy feel I tried something a little different which you will see later on.
I made this card in my studio, my last project out there as it is now far too cold.

First I had a sort out from my supplies to find some Christmas coloured DPs, stains and I also used a Dylusions spray as I only own a few of these as sprays. I used the supplies shown below. I first coated my paper with white acrylic paint as Tim did,

After it dried I added a little of everything!

After a spritz of water things started to look interesting
Once it was dry I stamped a starry sky with archival ink

After this I made a green base card to cut some festive die cuts.
I added some brushed pewter DP to this
 Mmmm lovely colours
Tim also used a cute deer on his tag, I don't have that particular one but I do own a different one so I die cut a few in grunge paper, I also stuck them to card to give them even more depth
I then started adding some colour
and also some glitter and made them little garlands as Tim did and added some little silver bells.
I sanded some card as Tim did and used the same method to add my die cut Merry Christmas but used a Cheery Lynn die. His words dies are on my ever increasing wish list! I  also used my icicle (fave die of the moment) and pine leaf branch dies by Cheery Lynn,
I decided I wanted more of a snowy scene in my background so I also used my Visible Image tree stamp and stamped these.
I still felt that it was not sparkly and snowy enough so I reached for my Frantage...you will see this in the finished card.
So having made all my elements it was time to put my card together. This is what I came up with.
a really snowy woodland scene.
Here are a few close ups. You can clearly see my Frantage here; the deer look as if they are dancing in the snow.

I actually gave this to my Hb as a second Christmas card to thank him for all his patience and tolerance of my crafting this year. He is so supportive of my work, despite the time it takes up. Thanks M, I love you ;0) x

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

  8. Absolutely gorgeous, Jane (as are all your other tags too)! I bet your dear Hb loved it...he sounds like mine...very patient, encouraging, and he appears to be oblivious (intentionally) to my crafty mess which seems to spread throughout the house. It sounds funny that you can't craft for a while in your garden studio because of the cold....I have had to move into the house for a few months, because my studio is too hot (temps regularly in the mid 40s C!!

    Hugs,
    Jennifer. x
