Winchester Cathedral Christmas Fair

My daughter lives near to Winchester and this is the setting of a very festive Christmas Fair which is held each year and visited by hundreds of thousands of people. It's very busy but really worth the visit and Winchester itself is such a pretty city. It was a perfect day, cold, frosty but with clear blue skies and the Cathedral looked stunning in the sunshine

We spent a few hours wandering around the stalls.
 and of course needed a cup of mulled wine to keep us warm.

Daisy was as good as gold wrapped up and snug in her buggy
We had lunch in the High Street which again is so picturesque. It is an ancient city and some of the buildings date from the 900s

It even has a Guildhall
 and pretty side streets to wander along

and afterwards we went back to our DD's and SIL's for dinner.
Daisy had such a fun day, as did we.

So what did I buy at the fair? ...well this year it was just one thing as it is something we have been missing. If you read Billy's tree post here you may have noticed that Old Choc does not have a fairy on his top..well this is what I bought.
Isn't she pretty...and here she is sitting at the top of Old Choc (whom Billy tells me is totally delighted)

So one last thing of course, my card challenge for today.
I used a Lili of the Valley art pad focal. The background is made with blended distress inks. I then added an Imagination Crafts stencil and pushed some Distress Paint through it. I stamped my Visible Image Santa's stamp in the sky and added a LOTV sentiment which I also blended some Distress inks onto. I also distressed the image with Vintage photo DI.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

A Vintage Journey let's celebrate my Tim influence in my card is using several of his fabulous techniques, blending the background with his Distress inks then adding some Distress paints through a stencil and also some silver embossed snowflakes and the Santa stamp. Lots of lovely layers and textures. I have also distressed around the image with his Distressing tool.
AVJ are also hosting an amazing give away over at their blog. Just follow the link here. I would love to come out of the hat, the prize is fabulous.
