English bluebells

The woods are full of our native bluebells at the moment. Our local woods are carpeted with these wonderful flowers and when you catch sight of them they are a surreal blue/purple mist.
The weekend before last we met our son and his dog Bear and had a magical couple of hours walking amongst these gorgeous flowers.

I also love the gorgeous beech trees in the woods with their incredible roots
Bear was fascinated
Bluebells had even found a home amongst the roots
This tree was one of our favourites

We went late in the afternoon and the dappled sunshine through the tree canopy was very striking

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 hour walk together. I love that we can share times like this with our family. I snapped this photo of my Hb and my son...such dear men in my life.
and although no doubt my son would groan if he read my blog (he doesn't so no worries there ;0) I just had to share this this shot below.
I have not had much studio time recently but I knew I had to capture this walk in Jane's Journal.
I opened my Journal and gathered my distress inks
I started blending the colours together to represent the trees and the bluebells growing on the woodland floor.
I also wanted the trees to be a part of these pages so I die cut one (I didn't use the branches in the end just the tree)
and coloured it up. This was to represent the moss on the trunk. I also added some crackle paste to it for texture which you will see in my final photos.
I wanted the late sun's rays shining through the tree canopy so I  used my rays stencil and some archival ink.
I  added some spritzes of purple ink too. I got out my winter tree and tall grass Visible Image stamps and added some stamping to the pages
I also coloured the "Colours of the wind" stamp using distress markers
and this is what I came up with

I die cut some leaves and added the date of our walk to them using my date stamp.

I adapted this quote from an anonymous one I found on the Internet
I really like the way the colours blend
I would like to enter my journal pages into the following challenges

We had a lovely weekend. Daisy was in great form and when she had gone to bed in the evening we watched a film which I have heard so much about but never seen...Disney's Frozen. Oh my it was just wonderful, such a magical story. I have a real bonus this week as I have taken Friday off work and will be able to my DD and Daisy again. What a lucky Nanna I am.

Thanks for visiting me and enjoy the week ahead, we have some more warm weather coming our way and this afternoon is very warm and sunny. I have just got home from work and opened the back door the birds are singing out there and the breeze is warm......my studio beckons..............;0)

Back soon,

Bye for now.

  28. A stunning page, I noticed it whilst looking through the entries for Anything But Cute Blog, love the colours you have chosen, love Bluebells, I used to live in Norfolk and there are some fabulous woods around there, now I am in Essex and its a bit disappointing, not much Bluebells around.
    Thank you for your inspiration.
