It's that tree time of the year

Hello everyone it's Billy here and I just had to take over Jane's blog today as it's that time of the year when there are some very strange things going on. It's slow going typing, my claws tend to click on the keys, but I had to tell you the tale of the trees.

First of all I spotted that Jane and her Hb had been fishing again and netted a very large tree which they stored over night.. I had a quick peep in the garage after breakfast.......
look  here it is. It said his name was Norman and he was from Norway...well I think that's what he said as his accent was a little strong. He seems a very friendly soul.

The next day I noticed that Norman  had been smuggled indoors and set up in a most strange contraption.

Jane and her Hb then set about putting on lights

and lots and lots of pretty objects which I over heard Jane calling baubles. What a strange word. I had to spell check  that before I typed it. My claws slipped a couple of times.
Take a peep at Norman now...wow! He was really pleased and I had to find a mirror to show him how splendid he looked.

Anyway not content with bringing Norman in I also noticed that my friend Old Choc had walked indoors too. My, he's really grown this year, it must have been all that sunshine and rain in the garden during the summer. That or he's been stealing my dinner.

He hopped up onto a table in the hall......his spot he calls it. Cheeky!
This year Jane has spoilt Old Choc and allowed him to wear some of her vintage ornaments.

He says some of them belonged to Jane's grandparents and parents. What a lucky fellow. Of course he is also going to have some chocs on him soon. Jane needs to get cracking. Here he is standing proud in "his spot".

Anyway this post took me quite a while to type so I'll tell you a little about Jane's challenge card today. She has made a card with those baubles on. Strange that, it's almost as if she has a plan.  She says the background was made from brayered acrylics and stamps...I do hope that makes sense to you? She cut the piece on the right to use. She also mentioned something about master (or was it mistress) boards. Honestly I can't keep up she seems to be always trying something different.

I asked Norman and he thought brayering might be the noise a donkey makes. Good grief I think he's mixed that up with braying....he really needs to use a spell check like me. Here is her card.

and a close up. She says the snowy effect is frantage.

She says she would like to enter into some of those fun challenges and gave me this list. Honestly I only have little paws and this typing lark is hard work. Here goes;

Natalie and Amy 1/3 Christmas
Pixie's snippets playground  2/3  #206
Sparkles Christmas 3/3 die cuts for Christmas
Memory box Season's Greetings using Frosty border
A vintage journey  vintage Christmas
That's Crafty 2/3 Season's Greetings
Ribbon Girl 2/3 anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Holly Jolly stamping
Love to create anything creative/mixed media #25
Simon says stamp Wednesday let it snow
Artistic Inspirations anything goes/Christmas
The Artistic stamper Christmas
Crafty Hazelnut 1/3 Time to decorate
Crafty Boots Christmas
Crafting for all seasons brrr it's cold outside
Visions of Sugarplums 2015 Christmas/Winter
Anything but cute You've got happy mail

I'd better dash as I've been finishing my list to Santa. I find it much easier using my fountain pen than typing. He said last year, when he arrived down the chimney, that even though I have been a very good cat, as his memory is not brilliant it's always best to write a list.
I can't wait to see him again. He even gave me a sip of the sherry Jane left out last year and let me feed the carrot to Rudolf. I was amazed that he could magic me up the chimney onto the roof...there was not a hint of soot on my coat! Clever stuff that magic is.

Well at least they didn't move my green chair, or "my spot" as I like to call it.
I can sit and chat to Norman from here.

*****yawn***** I think it's time for a little nap....goodness me it's so busy here....
I can feel my head drooping and my eyes are getting heavy...............

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Jane will be back soon,

Bye for now,

Billy x

  1. Oh what a lovely post Billy! And what a handsome chap you are, along with Norman and Old Choc as well :)

STUNNING card there too - clever Jane, really very beautiful indeed. It reminds me somewhat of the ornaments that no doubt are adorning Old Choc - they were so beautifully made back then weren't they.

    Hugs

  4. Awe Billy, you are gorgeous, not to mention extremely clever, I can just imagine how difficult it is to type with claws, especially cat claws.
Norman and Old Choc are looking great and are beautifully decorated with their baubles, speaking of which, Janes bauble card is a masterpiece!
So glad no one has taken over "your spot", I know how it is with cats and spots! :)
Happy new week handsome boy and wish Jane one too please,

  14. Meows Billy. I'm Lilly and I too love to sit in my special chair and look at the tree. Although sometimes I prefer to sleep under the tree and play with the decorations. It's a festive time of year for us cats. It's my naptime too so I will say goodbye for now. Lilly

  22. Hi again Jane. I knew there would be a tree post waiting to be read - as you can probably guess, I especially love the chocolate tree with it's vintage ornaments, I have a bit of a thing about knee hugging elves!! We've gone all retro this year, I've put all the tinsel, 1980's decorations and anything plastic onto our tree, it's quite fun to have something different. Your card is a winner, again, and nice to see Billy hosting the post :)

  26. Billy, I think you did a great job posting for Jane; now I have a post or two I could use some help with, and two delightful kitties, Roger and Biskit who would show you where to sit at their home. You could even climb their tree if you like. It seems you've had a very busy time with this Norman business, so you better finish your nap!

Jane, what a lovely post...I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! Your tree is beautiful, and your Billy is a delight!

Now as for this card! It is indeed Happy Mail, and someone is going to be SO lucky to receive it! Your background (what do you call it? A mistress board???) is lovely, and really gives those ornaments a pop! Love the snowy Frantage! Gorgeous! Thank you for joining our You've Got Happy Mail challenge at Anything But Cute. Hugs!
