Wonky veg

Yes you read the title correctly and I just had to share what I found in the supermarket on Tuesday.
How hilarious is this packet.
Yes wonky veg. I was just looking for a packet of onions and picked them up.
I looked and looked
trying to find a wonky onion....and there isn't one in there. The only "problem" with the onions is that they are a bit on the small side. Mad isn't it. Well I know how to solve that....just use two instead of one. The packet weighed the same 1kg and were half the price of my usual packet. I had no hesitation buying them  and feeling smug with my savings  I decided to treat myself this pretty little pot of my favourite Tete a Tete daffodils.
Looking at the bulbs they looked just like my wonky onions...
better make sure that I don't accidental eat them......LOL!
The sun was streaming in as I took these photos....a real whiff of spring.
and my other pot of daffs is still in flower...I have had 12 flowers in 2 flushes from this little pot...such a bargain.
My card today was inspired by thoughts of spring....it's one I have made for Dotty's
Lots of spring coloured snippets of inky card used for my die cuts...topped off with a VI stamped butterfly and one of my oldest and favourite sentiment stamps...it's even wooden!

 Nothing wonky here though 😌

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Pixie's snippets playground #267/8 everything on my card is a snippet!

Butterfly challenge P for paper piercing and/or the colour fern I have chosen just the colour fern.

Cute card Thursday 1/3 Lace or frills I have gone for frills...lots on my card

Penny Black and more 1/3 favourite stamp This thinking of you stamp is one of my favourite sentiment stamps but I have another you can see here too...my Visible Image butterfly.

Creative Moments anything goes

Happy Little stampers anything goes with dies

So remember to look out for these wonky veg....they need a good home and with the money you save  you can put it towards buying some potted  bulbs and watch them bloom. Like my wonky onions they will be beautiful on the inside.

Thanks for visiting me today and I would like to warmly welcome my 2 newest followers. It's lovely that you have joined my creative journey here. Enjoy the ride! Thanks everyone for all your sweet comments always. Sadly the weather today has turned freezing again...brrr...keep snug.

  6. What has the world come to? I'd much rather have wonky veg and know that every bit is being used for the purpose it was grown for and to have it cheaper as well - now that's a real bonus in my books. Love your pretty card. Huge hugs xxx

  9. Beautiful card Jane and super use of snippets as well. Wonky veg have been on sale in supermarkets for a while now - the EU rules about what makes a perfect vegetable are so stupid. And eventually a couple of supermarket chains (Tesco I think is the other one) joined in with 'wonky veg'. Such a great idea - we waste far too much food IMHO. And, it's a novelty factor - who knows what you might find :)

    Hugs

  12. Oh I get so cross about the supermarkets and their idea that we all want "perfect" (ie big, even and probably tasteless) fruit and veg - wonky or not, who can tell the difference when they're sliced and fried? It's not as if we're all arranging our veg into fancy still life displays!
Anyway, your lovely card makes up for all that, I love all the different die cuts and the kraft background is perfect to show them off

  17. I always go for the basics in the supermarket if I can, there never seems to be a problem with the quality and it saves them going to landfill which is such a waste. What is it with people who want even sized fruit and veg, it tastes the same.
A great use of your snippets by the way!
Thanks for sharing at HLS. :)
