Dressing a ballet star

Today I am delighted to be the Guest Designer for Crafty Ribbons over on their Facebook page. I won their March challenge with this Visible Image ballet dancer card.

Ali kindly asked if I would make a guest designer card for them. I love their ribbons so of course I said yes!

I decided to use the same image for this card and used some of my winning ribbons to "dress" her in a little tutu. I love these 3mm satin ribbons and added lots to my stash. Here is a link to them on the Crafty ribbons website. They sell 196 colours of these pretty ribbons which are also perfect for little bows.
I offered to share a step by step here on my blog of "How to Dress a ballet star"so here goes!

 First I stamped my dancer, from the Born to dance Visible Image set on some music paper.  I then matted onto some card which had been die cut.
I made an inky background with my Distress oxides...(l love playing with these inks)
 and added some stenciling...including stars of course for a ballet star 😉

I then stamped my dancer again and embossed and fussy cut her out with a skirt shape.....
I then went round her edges with black pen to get rid of any white card showing. I cut pieces of Crafty Ribbons 3mm satin ribbon (you don't need to be precise at this point) and stuck them onto double sided tape which was the same shape as her skirt.
 I added 3 pink pieces at the front. I tied a small purple piece around her waist and then tied a bow which I stuck on to cover up any edges.
 Then it was time to "shape" her tutu....I just cut round with scissors.
and here she is in her ribbon tutu ready to go onto stage.....or should I say onto my card! I also tied a pink ribbon to her ballet shoes. My star die cuts are by Noor. The cloud is Memory box and the Make a wish sentiment is from the Visible Image Own it stamp set.
 here she is in close up.........
Take a bow Miss Ballerina Star........now do I mean take a Crafty Ribbons bow or a bow for the crowd...ha ha ..how funny our English language is!

Crafty Ribbons have new challenges over on Facebook every 2 weeks..do join in the fun. Here is the link. You don't have to enter with a card...anything using ribbon is fine. You could be lucky enough to win £15 to spend on gorgeous ribbons from their website shop...go on you've got to be in it to win it!

I would like to enter my card to these other fun card challenges too;
