May in the garden

After some really dreary days last week the sun finally returned yesterday afternoon and it felt beautifully warm in my sunny back garden. My spring pots are still so pretty and now the tulips have finished I have one final set of bulbs that are flowering together with my pansies.

Even the digitalis is almost in flower....and someone else was basking in the sunshine too.............😺
Yes cheeky Billy who should not really be sitting on the cover of our outdoors table....but how can you say no to a face like his 😻

I have been spending many creative hours in my garden studio, there is so much inspiration when you are surrounded by Mother Nature and the only sounds are the birds singing their hearts out.

It's Monday again so it's my turn for some Design Team Inspiration over at Visible Image. We are 8 days into our "Express Yourself" challenge over on Facebook. This is our first Facebook challenge. We need to see you using your Visible Image words or quote stamps as the focal on your project. You can make anything at all; cards, tags, 3D objects etc, just make sure that the only stamps that you use are Visible Image ones. You can enter as many times as you like, the only rule is that any stamps you use must be VI.  If you have not joined the friends' group page just click here to join. It would be lovely to see you there. This challenge is open to everyone, world wide. You could be the randomly selected winner of a £40 voucher to spend on the website. Wow just think of all the amazing stamps you could add to your stash.

Do come over and join us. I will share all the links again at the end of my post.

I have chosen the words from the Love you longer stamp available here

and made myself a Distress Oxide background.
I then stamped and embossed the butterflies from the Own kind of beautiful set available here

I used some inky mop up card from my stash and stamped and fussy cut out the butterflies silhouette from the same set. These are my absolute favourite butterfly stamps in the crafting world.

They always turn out beautifully. I cut off the antennae in the end and used those from the silhouettes below. I added silicon glue for some 3 D dimension and create some butterfly flutter 😊
It was then time to put on my creative hat and put my card together. Here it is;

I love the way the font of the quote looks like old mistyping from a manual typewriter..it really adds to the vintage feel.
I took it down to my shelves at Dotty's Tearooms and it fluttered out the very next day!

Here is a close up
and a close up of the butterflies

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

  4. First...love your pics of some beautiful flowers. My great grandmothers favourite was the pansy. Your kitty is a regal lion...in his mind:) He is regal though:) I love your card! Love the background and those butterflies are great! I, glad you kept most of the background showing. It is neat how you stamped the butterfly solid and then stamped and fussy cut it out only to place them on top....love it. Now I have Cher's song in my head

  11. We have had some beautiful weather 'out West' recently and I have been making the most of it whenever possible! We spent Sunday barbecuing and playing badminton and darts, then I've been catching a cuppa on the doorstep before starting the day and even chanced a bit of sketching and colouring out there this afternoon...we've had a bit of a keen northerly wind that manages to penetrate even my multiple layers!
I have to say, I do like the look of these Distress Oxide Inks and they look wonderful on your pretty butterfly card - no wonder it didn't last long on the shelf! Enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts. Hugs, Lisa x
