Watch the birdies

Hello, today I am sharing some mid month inspiration for STAMPlorations for whom I am guest designing for until July. If you missed my first Guest Designer post for Shery this is the link to it.

If you are in the UK you may not of heard of these gorgeous stamps. I will share some links during my post for you to check out the website and see Shery's fantastic designs.
This the link to the main website, do check it out, there are some really fab designs there and Shery posts worldwide at a really reasonable rate.

Our theme for May is STAMPS AND ALPHABET and there is the additional sketch below, which it would be lovely to see you use, but it is not compulsory.
We need to see your stamps and some form of letters, words etc.
You still have 12 days to enter

All the details can be viewed in this link

I followed the theme and sketch again for my 2nd card.
Here is a little of my process.

|I white embossed the words from the gorgeous Trendy Birds set available here

I then added some distress inks first directly with water then blended to create the central panel of the sketch
I decided to use the flying birds and I water coloured and fussy cut them out. I thought they looked a bit like the flying ducks which used to hang on everyone's living room walls in the 1960s!!

I also used a sentiment from the
Bold sentiments set available here
I then put on my creative hat and came up with this card

and a couple of close ups..

I hope I might have inspired you to join in with the fun, it would be lovely to see you over at the blog challenge.
If you like the stamps I have used for my May cards Shery is offering a very generous discount to the readers of my blog. Just quote the code STAMPGIRLJANE at the checkout and get 20% off your order of regular or sale items. This is for stencils as well as stamps.

  1. I love your splatter of these 2 colours and the sayings are great! I know those birds well from the 1960"s which always went well with the wood paneling. It's a great card for a man or woman. Your pictures are good and those ducks are sweet...they are happy to see you too

  8. What a fabulous card and gorgeous stamps, love the design and colours. The ponds are looking healthy and well inhabited. The partial weight bearing and getting around is going well woo hoo. Still not attempted stairs yet though. Have a great weekend xxx

  9. What a gorgeous card Jane! I just love the emboss resist strip, the colours are brilliant and the sentiments are so perfect staggered like that! Your birds are just floating about the background, how wonderful!! Love your pond and wow on the dino birds, aren't they spectacular!! Have you had any baby ducks or geese this year? Sadly, we've none. A disturbing story about the horrific actions of mankind that I won't even get into right now. Hope all is well my friend, sending hugs to you and the family :)
