A blue and green August

Good morning and welcome to the first day of August and of course my monthly inspiration post for Country View Crafts. For this month the challenge theme has been chosen by the lovely Corrie and she would like to see "Blue and Green" in  your projects.
Remember that you can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. You many even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.
All the details can be find via this link.

Blue and green are 2 of my favourite colours as you well know, and I use them lots in my crafting. I decided I would make 2 blue and green cards, 1 male and 1 female. Today I am sharing the male one.
It is a card I made for my Dad. My Mum and dad take regular holidays to the seaside so I thought a travel themed card would be perfect for him...what is there not to love about the seaside......

OK I am digressing and dreaming about our next holiday.....
I got out some green and blue distress inks to start my background using the wrinkle free technique.
I then blended on some Peacock Feather DI
 and added some stencilling.

My brilliant Visible Image alphabetical stamps provide the "Dad" in the background.

I always think male cards are a struggle but using my Visible Image Scripted Streets and Destination Unknown sets are my go to stamps to use. I got together all my elements. I used some Tim Holtz texture fades to make some embossed background pieces.
and put on my creative hat to make my card.
Here are a couple of close ups.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Simon says Stamp Wednesday anything goes
That's Crafty 3/3 all things grunge
Penny Black 2/3 For the Boys

Enjoy your August, happy holidays if you are planning one. Thanks as always for stopping by.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

  6. This colour combo is also one of my favourites and I love the look. I like how you added numbers and the word dad which just enhances the card but doesn't take away from the main focal point.
