From spring to winter to spring

What extraordinary weather we have had over the last week. Last Friday I walked down to Dotty's and I revelled in the warmth of the sunshine. I thought that spring had arrived.
Blossom was out everywhere
and in my garden pots I spotted my first tulips nearly in flower,
However Mother Nature had other ideas and this started  the very next day.

Dumping another lot of snow.

and just look at my tulips 24 hours later!
Brrrr.

Today's make to share is another of my Easter projects. This time it's an Easter tag.
I created the background with distress inks and some Tim Holtz stamps. The dies are all by Tim including the butterfly frenzy.  The chit chat words work so well for so many occasions too.

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges;

Rubber dance Colour or theme March challenge I've gone for circles and die cuts.
A vintage journey Treasure my treasure in my tag is my weathered clock die cut. This die is no longer made and it is the favourite die I own and I really do treasure it.
Sparkles spring is in the air
Butterfly challenge L I have gone with layers, lemon and letters
Pixie's snippets playground #322
Try it on Tuesday 1/3 Spring moodboard I have gone with the birds and the greens and yellows in 2 of the photos.
Moving along with the times 2/3 Easter
The cutie pie challenge 3/3 spring cuties
Simon says stamp Wednesday Easter inspired
Noor spring
Simon says work it Wednesday 1/3 inky techniques mine was using distress inks

Yesterday it warmed up enough to melt all the snow but there is still a very chilly Northeasterly wind. Here in the south though I think we have finally seen the last of the snow.
The first day of spring was yesterday but and I want to hear those birds singing in warm sunshine soon. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments and especially the birthday wishes you left for my DD on my last post. They were most appreciated.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

  4. Hi, Jane! Sorry I've been away for so long! I love your detailed and textured tag! Each element is sensational! And your photos are always such a pleasure to see! You really have had a wild winter over there with Mother Nature flaunting her unpredictable and menopausal self! Fortunately, everything she throws at us is beautiful if we look at it through a beautiful lens like you do! Hugs, Darnell

  10. Jane, it's been ages since I've visited your lovely blog, but I saw this beautiful tag in blogland. I just had to come pay a visit and tell you how truly lovely it is! Really a favorite of yours for me! And your photos tell the story of what we are going through right now. It was actually HOT the other day 80F degrees, and this morning it's below freezing! So sad that I think we will not get to enjoy our beautiful spring flowers. Hugs to you!

  12. Gorgeous snippets make Jane - as always! It brings such hope given the weather lately. You did made me smile - yesterday evening the snow had gone and it was calm and even mild enough to sit in the garden for half an hour whilst my 'Pan Haggerty' casserole cooked in the oven (it was a recipe I published before you followed my blog but the recipe is still there if you use the search faclity - came from my lovely Mum).

As we sat just soaking up the early evening the air was FULL of bird song! A real joy to listen to - and a sure sign that those sweet little friends have hope in their hearts and romance in their minds ...........err, and other areas as Len would say. Last week Len cleaned out the blue tit box which sits below our bedroom window (on the back of the house). We'd left this a couple of years and wondered where they were last Summer but a friend told us that blue tits like to 'move their own furniture in'. And guess what - I was sat there, sitting in bed having a cup of tea just yesterday morning and there was the old 'tap, tap' sound as they build a new nest. Fingers crossed eh? And,Len saw Spike at silly o'clock this morning tottering around the garden a bit sleepy still but drinking and feeding from one of the hedgie stations. Ain't Mother Nature wonderful?!

    Hugs

  13. I love this tag. Love the aged clock piece you have used here. Superb colours. I hope we have seen the last of the winter weather. There are still a few small piles of snow around though to remind us of the sharp changes in temperature we have experienced this past week. Roll on Spring I can't wait. Thankyou for coming and spinning the wheel. Hugs Mrs A.
