A caterpillar pot

Hello it's time for my 2nd DT post for Country View challenges where our theme for April is "Pimp it up". In other words recycle or up cycle something.
You can see all the details here

I use lots of flower pots in my garden. I have different sizes but all the small terracotta ones are very plain. I decided that one of these very brown, very ordinary pots would be a good victim to be pimped up. I did not want to change the base colour of my pot so needed a fairly simple design.  I used acrylics and archival ink for my stamping.
I wanted something to pot up my new tiny camellia in...these photos were snapped a few weeks ago.

Now there are a couple of pitfalls when doing this which I will point out. You are stamping onto a curved surface so it is important not to be over precious or to have a very intricate design. Don't worry if the stamping with paint is a little blurry but less is more when using the paint and I brayered mine out onto a craft sheet to keep it thin.

I used PaperArtsy  Fresco paints and a brayer to get a thin layer of paint. I dipped the stamps into the paints for the foliage.

and finally I stamped some caterpillars.
Here is my pot
and a close up showing a couple of the caterpillars.
You can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. Your make can be anything creative, yes even flowerpots. You might even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.
I would like to enter my pot into the following challenges.

Rhedd's creative spirit anything goes
Creative Inspirations 2/3 springtime

Let's hope that they don't eat my plants but metamorphose into beautiful butterflies.
This will be just right for potting on my camellia now that it has almost finished flowering ( I didn't want to stress it by doing this too early).

Now today is a really special one for me as we are celebrating Jack's (our darling grandson's 1st birthday). I will share his cake and card soon but just to show you how much he has changed here he was on 21 April 2017
and he is is now, enjoying some pedal power with big sis Daisy in their new house.

What a year that has been and what joy he has brought into all our lives. He is the most laid back delightful little boy...where on earth have those 12 months gone!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Bye for now,

Jane x
