Behind every story

Good morning and I hope those of you in the UK are enjoying a restful bank holiday Easter Monday. After all my birthday and Easter excitement yesterday I am back today with my weekly dose of Visible Image Inspiration. Thank you all for the kind birthday wishes you left me.
I had a wonderful day spent with my dear family....happy times..and of course I made some birthday wishes over my cake for the year ahead. My Hb made my cake for me, a lemon sponge, it was delicious.

The card I am sharing today uses the fab Masquerade stamp set from the February 2018 release. I made it for Craft Stamper's March edition, you might have spotted it in print.. and I can now share a few details.
I wanted a piece of inky card for the background and used these distress colours. I stitched round the outside with my sewiing machine.
I stamped the happy mask on gold and the sad on cream card and fussy cut them out.
I decided to make mine into "real" masks using ribbons and eyelets.
And then put together my card.
And if you are interested to know which "story" is behind my masks they are pages from Charles Dicken's "A tale of two cities".  My Hb gave me an old copy he no longer needed and I use it lots in my crafting.
Here are some close ups.
and one last shot
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

  6. Great card Jane - and I do so love how your makes hold such stories and thought. Super family photo as well - lemon cake, yummy!! I made a huge Victoria Sponge cake with fresh cream at the weekend - a little piggy here almost made himself ill by eating too much of it. And for once is wasn't Parsnip either! So glad you had a great Birthday - happiness really shines out of this lovely photo.

    Hugs
