A vintage May bank holiday

The sun shone in Surrey for the whole of the May bank holiday. We had a wonderful day on Saturday looking after Daisy and we managed to keep her entertained until 9.30pm before my Hb collected her Mummy and Daddy from the wedding.  They were so pleased to have enjoyed their day as much as we were delighted to have spent the day with our gorgeous granddaughter.

Our "base" for the day was Farnham in Surrey. My daughter and SIL had taken a room at the Bush Hotel and came back to stay there the night after the wedding, which was held nearby.  We all met up at the hotel and dropped them off at the wedding at 2.30pm. After some playtime back in the hotel room my Hb and I took Daisy out in her buggy for a walk.

Farnham in a very pretty old market town, although they could do with a by-pass as so much traffic comes around the one way system. We walked along the river and up to near the castle. It was the most gorgeous day on Saturday, the best of the weekend and it really felt like early summer.
 Off the main one way system is Castle Street a lovely wide road with superb imposing houses lining it.

The gardens were all so well tended. There were also some old alms houses built in 1614
 The inscription really made us chuckle.
We had quite a busy Sunday gardening and then helping our son with some decorating preparation and finally on Monday I had some time for crafting.
I have several projects on the go including my May Tim Tag but one card  I completed was a DT guest designer card for Ingacio over at Nicecrane Designs. He has some stunning new images out and the first set I wanted to use after my day in Farnham was a vintage children seaside set available here.  It's called Children at the seaside.

Here is my card;

How gorgeous is this image...here is a close up
I have put this birthday card up for sale in my Etsy shop here

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

And talking about "vintage", we took a little play bus with us which was a childhood toy belonging to our son. Daisy was fascinated by it and had fun on her play mat pulling out the people and trying to move the bus.  Here are a couple of shots of our sweet girlie in  the hotel room
 such concentration ;0)

and having fun showing off her bunny slippers. I can't believe she is 6 months old next week.

I hope everyone in the UK enjoyed your long weekend? I am back at work tomorrow, so I have had a really lovely long break again. It's been sunny again today but I think there is some rain about to come in so I am glad I got my lawn cut.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane (aka Nanna to Daisy) x
