Blow out the candles for Country View challenges

 Hi friends, I am back with my 2nd design team make for our January challenge over at Country View. The theme is "Your year to sparkle and shine". So we would like to see lots of bling, sparkle media etc. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours.

As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

For this make I decided to make a sparkly birthday cake using the awesome Visible Image Blow out the candles stamp set. I appreciate that this set and lots of other are currently out of stock over on the website. Susan will be restocking very soon and if you add your email address she will contact you when they are back in stock.

This set is just perfect for making quick birthday cards. This is the card for my husband's birthday yesterday as he loves chocolate cake so this is what I baked  made. This is what I got up to;
I used one of my distress ink shaving foam marbled background from my stash and dripped on some snow flurries distress mica stain. I love the sparkle you get with these inks.

I then stamped the large cake onto brown, blue inky mop up and white card and cut the parts out to assemble 1 cake. It's really useful doing it this way as you have 3 cakes to make up. Great instant spares for a quick birthday card.
I stamped the sentiments in place and stamped the candles in place. There is a lovely "glow" stamp in this set which gives a gorgeous outline to the candles. I added a little glitter pen to them and then it was time to assemble my cake
Here is it is;
You can see the Stickles sparkle I added to the icing, in the close up
and one final shot;
I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our January "Your year to sparkle and shine "challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.

 Once again all the details for the January challenge are here Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website postage FREE on orders over £ 7.50

Take your broken wings and fly again for Visible Image

Hello, I am here today with my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image. I have been a secret squirrel over the last few weeks making samples with the AMAZING upcoming new release. You may have seen some sneak peeks on social media over the last week. Pre release orders open on the website this Friday (21st Jan). Worldwide release date is 11th February. There are new stamps, stencils and dies...and something rather different for Visible Image in the die front too. I think you will love the new products. Obviously I can't share anything here yet (but there are some of my sneak peeks at the end of this post) so I decided to look through my stash and chose a stamp set I have not used for a while.

 I chose Learn to fly . This set has gorgeous images and such an uplifting quote.

This is what I got up to;

I used one of my shaving foam marbled reinker backgrounds from my stash. For this one I had use the uber useful Fibres stencil

I masked off the sentiment into 2 halves using a Post it note.
and stamped it in 2 halves at the top and bottom of the background.
Using spiced marmalade archival distress ink I stamped the birds. I then stamped the small feather using peeled paint archival.
I used green versafine clair in rainforest green to stamp and clear emboss the large feather.

I added a few sequins for a finishing touch and matted up my card.

Here it is finished;
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot;

2022 - destination unknown

 Good morning welcome to the first Monday of 2022 and my first new Visible Image design team post of the year. I decided that I would celebrate this with a 2022 dated canvas.

Let's hope this really is the year when our lives start to return to some kind of normality and we will be able to seek out new adventures both in the UK and abroad. I have put live links in this post which if you click on them will take you straight to the products on the Visible Image website.

I worked with these fab stamp sets;

Destination unknown

the numbers and boxes/squares from Alphabetical
 some background stamping using all the stamps from Mesh-ellaeous
and the uber versatile Fibres stencil
This is what I got up to; using Prize ribbon, Salvaged patina and Fossilized amber I made a watercolour background. I wanted to make a background representing the land and seas on earth.
Using the 2 blues and my blending tool I then added some stenciling using my Fibres stencil.

I added some background stamping using Fossilized amber distress archival ink and all the stamps in the Mesh-ellaeous set. I just randomly partially stamped, holding the stamps in my hand. It gives a much more organic feel than if you put the stamps onto a block.

Next I stamped the year onto inky mop up card using the numbers and squares from Alphabetical. I cut them out and distressed the edges.

I die cut a circle, representing our planet Earth, stamped the sentiment from Destination unknown and again added some faint stenciling using the Fibres stencil.

I stamped the "directions" onto inky mop up card. I cut them into banners and using a distress tool, distressed their edges.
I stamped all the sizes of the boats and planes in the Destination unknown and cut them out. I love these images, they are such fun!
Then it was time to put my 2022 canvas together.
Here it is;
with some close ups;

and one final shot;

I gave this to my son, as 2022 looks to be a very adventurous new journey for him 😎
