A gift bag for Visible Image

 Hello everyone it's the very last day of August and I am back with my latest blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's project I made something a little different, a simple gift bag using a stencil and a stamped tag. There are clickable links on all the products I used which which will take you to the website.

These are the products I used;

Ink swirls stencil

and some words from the Nothing to wear stamp set

You could easily adapt my make using many of the other Visible Image stencils too. There are plenty to find on the website and you can check out the whole range here.
 This is what I go up to;
I used a plain Kraft gift bag picked up in my local Works shop.
I used my distress oxides for this make as they are a dye and pigment mix of ink and show up more clearly on kraft card. They are also easier to blend together.
I used a whole mix of colours. First I placed a piece of low tac masking tape across the top of the bag to protect the handles.

Then I placed the stencil down and used a mix of the inks with blending brushes to apply the inks.
As the bag was longer that the stencil I repositioned it underneath and repeated the process.
After removing the masking tape from the top I added a little more oxide ink to all the front edges of the bag.
I die cut some labels and stamped the word smile and the daisy from the  Nothing to wear stamp set and added a little more oxide to their edges.
I added a combination of string and ribbon and then tied it to the handle of the bag.
Here is the finished bag
with a close up

and one final shot.

Wings of change for Visible Image

 Hello everyone another fortnight has whizzed by and I am back with my latest blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's make I made a summery canvas. There are clickable links on all the products I used which will take you to the website.

These are the sets I used;

Wings of change

and to add texture to the butterflies the very useful background stamp set

Grunge tones

with the Hope definition from Equality, hope and love stamp set.

This is what I go up to; I made a distress ink background using these colours;

I stamped the word hope from the  Equality, hope and love set in the centre. I stamped the words from the Wings of change at the top and bottom,  you will see this in the final photos.
To add texture and interest to the butterflies I made some quick textured backgrounds using these inks. First up is this one, you can see how I used the stamps from Grunge tones
 I then stamped some of the butterflies.
I also made a more white based one using the same inks but I didn't smear any ink onto the card.
Again I stamped some butterflies and this time added some clear embossing powder and heat embossed them.
I cut them out, minus their antennae, as they would be layered up on the canvas.

I put together my design by stamping the butterflies straight onto the canvas and then adhered the matching cut out butterfly on top.

I added some glossy accents to some of the circles in the words and on the butterflies. When dry I stitched around the edges using my sewing machine,

Then I matted it up onto white and blue card.

Here is my finished canvas
with a couple of close ups;

and one final shot;

Daisy Grunge in August for Country View Challenges

 Hello, I am back today with my 2nd design team post for Country View challenges to hopefully inspire you to join our current "birthday" challenge for July.  You can make anything you like using any products. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

For this birthday card I decided to go floral and used the gorgeous Visible Image Daisy Grunge stamp set

 with the bee-autiful Bee Happy set.

and the birthday sentiment from Lost for words

This is what I got up to;

 I made a background using saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner distress inks.

I stamped Daisy grunge and the bees in place and clear heat embossed them.

I painted the leaves with a little extra saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner ink.
I coloured the bees with gold gel pen and the daisy centre with blue glitter pen. I finished off with some glossy accents to the centre of the daisy and some sequins.

 Here is my finished card;
with a close up of the lovely Daisy and bees.

I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our August challenge. You can use any stamps products, the choice is yours.
 Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00

Footsteps in the sand, 10 years on

Hello everyone I am back with my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's make I am sharing a step by step of the card I made for my daughter and son in laws recent wedding anniversary. As it was a special one, their 10th, I decided to make something very detailed and meaningful to them.

They live at the seaside and spend a lot of time here.

 I decided to make a circle easel card and I knew exactly which Visible Image products would be perfect.

At the beach

the sentiment from Happy anniversary
Plus 2 stencils

The always versatile
Framed fibres layering die (for extra textured waves).
And finally for the number 10, I stamped the numbers from the White rabbit set

 and used their co ordinating dies to cut them out.
This is what I got up to;

I inked 2 circles of card using these seaside coloured distress stain sprays.

I then inked the Always and forever stencil onto the top of the card using distress ink,

It creates such a romantic image.
Once dry I white heat embossed the waves from Ride the waves

On the bottom part of the card I stencilled the small footprints from Sandy feet using texture paste
I cut off the tip of the card to accommodate the fold in the circle easel card blank. I make my own, there are lots of on line tutorials elsewhere for how to do this.
I stamped some of the At the beach shells in brown ink onto inky mop up card and cut them out. I also stamped the sentiment from  Happy anniversary and added foam fixers underneath to raise it to hold the top part of the card in place when stood up.
I added pieces of card die cut using the Framed fibres layering die and stuck them in place to represent the waves lapping at the footprints in the sand.
I glued all the elements in place

and for a cool watery sea effect I decided to use glossy accents and glamour dust glitter to give a shimmer to the waves and around the sandy footprints.
This is how it looked when dry,
Here is my finished card
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot
You could of course adapt either part of my easel design to make a single flat card. However, all these extra details really do make for a different card and are worth the effort for those special people in your life. My card was very loved and appreciated by my daughter and SIL.
