Daisy Grunge

  Hi everyone and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team post for Visible Image. We are now near the end of April and mother nature is really blooming. It won't be very long until I can plant up my pots in my tiny sunny garden with summer bedding.  My make today uses the delightful "Daisy Grunge" stamp set with a background set and stencil. Daisy Grunge is so versatile and I have used the main bloom from the set with the sweet tiny daisy and one of the sentiments to make this spring inspired card.

These are the products I used;

and the Leafy stencil

This is what I got up to;

I taped the stencil onto a piece of white card and blended through these distress inks. Did you know that Visible Image now stock a large range of distress inks and other Tim Holtz products on their website? Do check them out.

I cut my background down to 5 1/4" square and stamped the large circle cluster from the Round in circles background stamp set  using green oasis Versafine claire ink across the middle.

Next I stamped the large daisy from the Daisy Grunge stamp set onto a scrap of white card, using Nocturne ink, clear heat embossed and cut it out.  I added a little colouring using distress watercolour pencils.

For some extra dimension I added Glossy accents to the centre of the flower.

I randomly repeat stamped the little daisy from the set all over the background, adding some gold pen detailing. I  stamped the Daisy grunge in the centre of the background and decoupaged the cut out daisy onto it, adding a litttle foam tape under some of the petals to lift them up. Finally I stamped the Smile sentiment below.  As a finishing touch I machine stitched around the edges using my trusty sewing machine.

I matted onto green card and then adhered to a 5 3/4" square white card blank.

Here is my finished card again

with a couple of close ups

and one final shot.

I hope I may have inspired you to check out the these lovely stamps and stencil and be inspired by all the stunning colours Mother Nature is sharing all around you to make something spring themed.

I used the Visible Image Flower ink mask and stencil and some spring coloured distress inks

I first blended all 3 colours through the stencil

Then I added the mask, moving it slightly to create extra petal and added abandoned coral over the whole card background.

I stamped the large background flower from the Visible Image Where flowers bloom using Versafine claire Summertime ink
Next I stamped small flower from the set and the thank you sentiment from Visible Image's  Lost for words sentiment set in the centre using Versafine clair nocturne and clear heat embossed it.

I stamped the small flower again onto inky mob up card, cut it out, coloured the centre with gold pen and added Glossy accents for some extra dimension.

I then decoupaged the flower over the stamped image. I machine stitched around the perimeter of the card, matted it onto black card and added some sequins for a finishing touch before I adhered it to a 6X6" card blank,

Birthday tulips

  Hi everyone and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team post for Visible Image. I'm delighted that both my grown up children have inherited my passion for gardening. My daughter loves growing veg but she also loves growing flowers for cutting. During the spring she has been filling her home with daffodils, hellebores and most recently wonderful tulips. It was her birthday recently and I made her this spring garden  themed card.

I used the gorgeous Sketched tulips stamp set

To add to the garden feel ( and also because her daughter, my granddaughter is called Daisy) I also used the "Daisy Daisy" stencil  in the background.

The sentiments are from the  "Lost for words" sentiment set.

This is what I got up to;

I taped down an A5 piece of white card and placed the stencil down. Using the distress inks shown below I carefully blended the inks over the stencil. I just hold the stencil in place in the centre using a couple of fingers.

I moved the Daisy Daisy stencil around and added more colour.

I cut my background down to a 5 1/4" square. I stamped the main images and sentiments as shown below using Versafine Claire nocturne ink, which I clear heat embossed. I added the stem stamp from the set using orange ink.

I then stamped the large tulip and 2 small tulips heads again onto white card . I over stamped the blooms with the Bronte verse stamp in the set using yellow versafine.

I cut them all out.

and adhered them over the images stamped on the background. I also added some gold pen details to the flower sprigs and white pen detailing on the sentiments.

 Finally I matted onto orange and then black card and adhered to a 7" square white card blank.

Here is my finished card again

with a couple of close ups

and one final shot.

I am pleased to say that when my daughter opened her card on her birthday she loved it!

The stamps sets I used are the ever popular and my favourite EVER floral stamp set Creative Chaos.

and one of the sentiments from their Best birthday Ever sentiment set

I used candied apple, mustard seed and carved pumpkin distress stain sprays to make this drippy background.

When dry I stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne and clear heat embossed the flower from Creative Chaos and sentiments from Best birthday ever.

Using wild honey distress archival ink I repeat stamped the bubble stamp from Creative Chaos around the flower.

I then stamped the flower as before onto a piece of inky mop up card and cut it out.

Then I decoupaged it over the previously stamped image on the background. I added some white pen accents to the sentiments.
