Christmas at Harrods 2018

I'm back to share some more photos from my annual festive trip to Harrods that I enjoy with my dear Mum.
I shared some of the windows in my last post, if you missed that you can see it here. This very large Santa greeted us at the entrance of the Christmas department.
There were lots of different displays in styles to appeal to all.

 My eyes spotted this display...
I love Raymond Brigg's The Snowman and found out that it is the 40th anniversary of the book.
Harrods have produced some gorgeous memorabilia, and my dear Mum treated me to this new cutie for my Christmas tree. Isn't he a cutie and he has a lovely 40 years of the snowman/Harrods tag on him too.
So my card today just had to feature a snowman didn't it? I used my very ancient Penny Black snowman wooden stamp and made a very CAS card. I simply stamped him on craft and coloured him with gel pens. I put him onto a glittery die cut and added a very simple stamped Merry Christmas and a few stars.
He has made his way down to Dotty's teahouse.

Countdown to Christmas 2017

Oh my, we have arrived at the 1st of December and I can now start the countdown to Christmas, my very favourite time of the year!

My Mum and I enjoyed a trip to Harrods. The Christmas shop is always a delight.

All these lovely red and greens fits in well with my card today which is my Design Team inspiration for Country View for our new December Challenge. The theme is Christmas with optional reds, greens and rust! The details are here

I love the sound of sleigh bells at Christmas so I thought that I would made some rusted bells for my projects. Today I am sharing my jingle bells card. I will share the other on December 17th.
I die cut some Tim Holz bells and added texture paste
When it was dry I started building up layers with my mixed media DecoArt acrylic paints.
Once I was happy I left these to dry.
For my background I made a red inky base with distress inks and added some trees using my TH stencil
I then stamped a pattern with my fave Tim retro Christmas stamps.
I then put my card together.
We would love to see lots of you joining in with our last challenge of the year.

Remember that you can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. Your make can be anything creative! You may even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.

All the details can be found here

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 3/3 #361

Harrods at Christmas, Jane's Journal countdown til Christmas 2014

We had a wonderful weekend with Daisy staying. She is such a sweet natured contented baby. We had great fun and I will sort out some photos soon but as I also want to make a Moment I also need to wait a little while until I get some extra crafting time. I miss her already...but we are seeing her again on Saturday so not too long to wait.

The days until Christmas are now flying by and for those of you counting like me (and Daisy) there are only 37 to go.  I thought today would be a good day to share my recent trip to Harrods to see their Christmas department. My Mum and I love to go each year. I must admit each year it seems to get a little smaller but it is always such a pleasure to see and Harrods is one of my favourite stores any time of the year.

We always meet in a local Paul's for a coffee first and this was the view across to Harrods, such a stunning building even on the outside.
The Christmas department was through this pretty decorated entrance
This year they had different sections with themed names; These were a few.........

Here are some which caught my eye but this year I didn't bring one home as I have a plan to make one later on this month...watch this space.................

We also visited the toy department...I never need much of an excuse to look around here
I'm delighted to see that Tiny Tears is still made...I still have mine from the 1960s...one day my Daisy can play with them.
I love Steiff soft toys (but not their price tag!) and thought these bears and giraffes were super.
I also spotted Cath Kidston

and of course no visit to Harrods is complete without a visit the their food department, I don't think anywhere beats this.
Chocolate anyone..........?

Harrods is really the best vintage yet modern shopping experience and my card today has a vintage feel......
It features a Nicecrane black and white digi image which I hand coloured with Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils.  It is available to buy and download here .I love Ignacio's vintage Christmas images. If you don't fancy hand colouring he also has plenty of ready coloured vintage illustrations which make brilliant cards. I also use them for my Christmas crackers...coming soon! Here is the link to his shop.
This is the image in close up

My backing paper is by Bearly Mine, the sleigh die cut is Cheery Lynn and the corner one is Memory Box. Both my tag sentiments are LOTV.

You will find my card for sale in my Etsy shop here.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Cute Card Thursdays red and green
We dodoobadoo Christmas
The Ribbon Girl red

Christmas at Harrods

It's such a wet, dreary Saturday that I thought I would cheer everyone up by sharing my photos from my recent Harrods trip. My regular readers will know that every year my Mum and I make our annual trip to Harrods in London to see the Christmas displays and decorations.
Harrods is my favourite shop in the world!
Even from the outside it is the most impressive building.

And inside is just another world. Over the last few years millions of pounds have been spent restoring the interior. The work is nearly complete and there is a feeling of luxury everywhere.
This is just one of  the escalators!

As always the Christmas department never disappoints.

We enjoyed seeing all the different themes and yes I came away with a new decoration for my tree. This year I was really taken by these sweet angels. My dear Mum bought me one.

Harrods still has a wonderful Santa's grotto and I am hoping in a few years time I will be taking my grandbaby there to meet Father Christmas..it's all so exciting that I will be able to go back to seeing Christmas through a young child's eyes.
I had some studio time today decided to do some Design team GD work for Ignacio. I thought my card needed to be a "vintage"Christmas card so I used one of my  Nicecrane designs . Do pop over to the blog there are always lovely projects on show by our Design Team and often freebies too. This image is from the  Happy Christmas sheet by Bowley which is available here. This is such a gorgeous sheet and I have plans for using other images from it. Here is my vintage childhood Christmas card
Just look at this gorgeous image
I had fun adding one of my hand made "word" trees to which I added lots of Cheery Lynn die cut snowflakes and stickles glitter. The fab snowman is a Sizzix fellow. The card base was made using my Go Create frilly die which I bought from the Hobby House with my challenge winnings voucher in the autumn. The snowflake borders are Joy Craft and the sentiment is also Cheery Lynn. I added some distress inks to the papers and the sentiment to give them a vintage feel. The snow under the snowflake is an ancient tub of snowtex I found in my studio and it is still in perfect condition.

As you can see I am not making this for a boy or a girl as I have used pink and blue!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

I hope you are beginning to get your Christmas preparations planned, there are just 46 days to go. I am going Christmas shopping with my best friend Karen on Thursday so I hope to get some of my presents out of the way.

We have a fairly mellow weekend planned so I do hope to get some more studio time too. I am still able to work outside in my garden studio with my little heater on. I also love being out there after work when it's dark..it's so snug and I get an hour or so crafting before my Hb gets in.

Enjoy your weekend and if you watch Strictly, things are hotting up aren't they?

Keeeep dancing  crafting,

Back soon,

No baby news yet, all is well and I know how many of you are so excited for our news, thanks for being such great blogging buddies,
