Blow out the candles for Country View challenges

 Hi friends, I am back with my 2nd design team make for our January challenge over at Country View. The theme is "Your year to sparkle and shine". So we would like to see lots of bling, sparkle media etc. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours.

As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

For this make I decided to make a sparkly birthday cake using the awesome Visible Image Blow out the candles stamp set. I appreciate that this set and lots of other are currently out of stock over on the website. Susan will be restocking very soon and if you add your email address she will contact you when they are back in stock.

This set is just perfect for making quick birthday cards. This is the card for my husband's birthday yesterday as he loves chocolate cake so this is what I baked  made. This is what I got up to;
I used one of my distress ink shaving foam marbled background from my stash and dripped on some snow flurries distress mica stain. I love the sparkle you get with these inks.

I then stamped the large cake onto brown, blue inky mop up and white card and cut the parts out to assemble 1 cake. It's really useful doing it this way as you have 3 cakes to make up. Great instant spares for a quick birthday card.
I stamped the sentiments in place and stamped the candles in place. There is a lovely "glow" stamp in this set which gives a gorgeous outline to the candles. I added a little glitter pen to them and then it was time to assemble my cake
Here is it is;
You can see the Stickles sparkle I added to the icing, in the close up
and one final shot;
I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our January "Your year to sparkle and shine "challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.

 Once again all the details for the January challenge are here Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website postage FREE on orders over £ 7.50

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take care and stay safe.

Happy new year!

Hello everyone and welcome to 2022..happy new year! Let's hope that this really is the year when our lives can start to return to some kind of normality. I hope you had a splendid Christmas?  Of course it's time for our first challenge over at Country View and for January the theme is "Your year to sparkle and shine".

I decided to make a very sparkly new year card to ring in 2022. This is what I got up to;

I cut out a circle from a 5.5" square of black card. I used the new year sentiment from Visible Image's Go to Christmas words and gold embossed it at the top and the "sparkle sentiment "from the Rays of light stamp set at the bottom. ( Edit; I notice that the stamps I have used have been so popular that sold out on the website, just add your email and Susan will contact you as soon as she has restocked!)

T

The rays in this set are really awesome. I repeat stamped them in red embossing glitter. I also used the bubbles in the set to stamp in white.
On another sheet of card I dripped some of Tom Holtz' mica stain sprays. I then stamped another ray in the centre.
I stamped the glass from the awesome Keep your gin up set and coloured the lemon slice. I stamped and cut out the ice cube too.

I then stuck it in front of the ray.

I added a couple of gold die cut stars. I used 3d foam to layer up the front. Here is my finished card;

with a close up
and one final shot.
I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our January "Your year to sparkle and shine "challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.

The January blues

Hello blogging friends. I hope you are all keeping well? Here in the UK the pandemic is taking a turn for the worse and cases are rises exponentially . The vaccine is thankfully being rolled out very quickly and let's really hope that this surge can soon be controlled.  My daughter (an NHS doctor) has had her first jab and my parents who are in their late 80s are hoping to be called up very soon. My Hb continues to work from home and I have now moved indoors again from my garden studio to craft so we are cozied up indoors for now with Billy our dear cat.  I get out for my daily walks and most days go to see my sweet dino ducks who never cease to make me smile.

I thought I would share a few recent photos of the lovely blue skies we have enjoyed recently despite the cold and show some photos taken in the week of my sweet dinos.

and as the sun went down it shone beautifully through the willow tree.

Dotty's Teahouse, where I sell my cards has now had to shut for any takeaways so I have had some crafting time to experiment, which is always fun.  It's not me but my crafting which has taken on "The blues" for the last week. I take part in a monthly artist trading card and coins swap and this was the theme. I made my cards and coins with the same theme and then my imagination took over and I decided to make a tag with "the blues".

I have already posted these on Instagram where I just celebrated my 1,000 post. If you would like to find me this is the link

I made some winter blues artist trading cards using Lavinia stamps

a "Blue starry tree" tag with an oxide galaxy background with Tim Holtz dies

and some "Playing the blues" coins using Visible Image stamps

I would like to enter my coins into the following challenges;

Allsorts favourite colour no guess as to mine...blue of course!
Crafty friends 1/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes
Cute card Thursday 1/3 anything goes
Stamping sensations 1/3 favourite stamps these Visible Image Jazz it up stamps are one of my very favoruite male sets.

I have been keeping very busy with my crafting with some secret, for now projects, too which I will share as soon as I can.
Stay safe, stay indoors and stay positive.  Please take great care. Keep mindful, things will improve in the coming months, we just need to get through these difficult weeks ahead.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

January theme and sketch challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello and welcome to our January theme and sketch challenge over STAMPlorations, the first of 2019.
We have a fun theme this month
and a lovely sketch to work with
 Before I share my January inspiration I just wanted to give you a heads up of a great giveway which closes on Monday here This post is where Shery shares her fave 3 of each designers' makes from 2018. If you would like to see which of mine she chose just head on over.  You can win a $50 package of stamps just by leaving a comment over there so please don't miss out and yes it is open to everyone, internationally.

 So back to our January theme and sketch challenge. The rules in brief are that you need to use stamping on your projects. You don't have to use STAMPlorations stamps to enter but of course we love it if you do! You can link up 6 times with new blog posts and you need to add our logo to your post. You can go with the theme, the sketch or both, the choice is yours. There are some fab prizes to be won too!

Today I am sharing my first card to hopefully give you some inspiration to join us. I have chosen to use both the theme and sketch.
I used this sweet stamp set called Tweet love
and the sentiments from party time

I love the "stitched" feel to the Tweet Love animal stamps so I got out my sewing machine to add some sewing both to the edges of the card and to the panels of stamping.

I stamped and coloured the images with Zig watercolour markers (I didn't use them all in the final card)
Here is my final card, mounted onto a Kraft card blank.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Mix it up 2/5 anything goes
Love to craft 2/5 anything goes

A little colour in January

I am still being delighted by a little colour from the plucky little violas in my ports in the garden.
I deadhead them regularly and they just keep blooming and blooming.

 I also spied that my bulbs, planted in the autumn, are pushing up.
We are promised a bit of a cold blast of weather for the next week but I am sure that my bulbs will keep snug.
I also have a little ray of sunshine in the house...my darling Daisy has come to stay for a few days.
We have been crafting, especially die cutting which she finds really fascinating.  I have lots of new crafting bits to show her too. Santa was kind to Nanna, so perhaps I must have been good after all 😃

I have been also making some stock for Dotty's and today's card challenge entry is a very cheery and colourful one.

This is a simply print digi image from Lili of the Valley. The stamped sentiment tag is also LOTV. I have used my Tim Holtz swirling stars die on the background...I think this is my favourite ever die!
It is for sale at Dotty's Tea House, Carshalton High Street, Surrey, SM5 2AE

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Mix it up 1/5 anything goes
Love to craft 1/5 anything goes
Dies R us 1/3 anything goes with dies in the store mine is the Memory Box stitched rectangle I used to die cut the image.
A bit more time to craft 1/3 anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's patterned paper January

Must dash, my little ray of sunshine is calling.

Thanks for stopping by,

Back tomorrow with my first STAMPlorations inspiration for 2019

Bye for now,
