Birdworld July 2019

We finally have some welcome rain here in the south east and as I can't get out to do some gardening I thought I would share a few photos from my visit to Birdworld, Hampshire on Wednesday with my DD and grandbabies. It was a very hot day but the children coped really well and we had such fun.
You can buy bird feed and the favourite activity for Daisy and Jack is feeding all the different birds around the park.
The grounds are always so beautifully tended.
The petting area is always a hit

We loved watching the birds having a cool bath.
Even the money box is a big hit and yes Nanna always manages to find some coins to feed the penguin.
We smiled at the keeper feeding them, they all lined up and came up one at a time!
I have shared this photo before but this pig had the best idea!
And my daughter took these couple of photos which she sent me....yes I do love my grandbabies just a bit!

It was a magical day, special memories made.

I was inspired to make a bird themed card yesterday for Dotty's Teahouse.
The vintage children image is an old one for mine from Nicecrane (sadly no longer trading). The backing paper is ancient from my stash. The sentiment stamp is by Lili of the Valley and the dies are various; Tim Holtz, Marianne, Memory Box, Cheery Lynn and The Works.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Crafty Hazelnut's patterned paper July
Crafty friends 1/3 summer
Creative fingers anything goes
Crafty catz 1/3 anything goes
Dies R us anything goes dies used; Tim Holtz, Marianne, Memory Box, Cheery Lynn and The Works.

Also a quick heads up that I am over on the Country View Crafts shop blog today showcasing the whole of the June Visible Image release. I am sharing lots of my makes. If you would like to see what I have been up to just follow the link here

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the cooler temperatures if you are in this neck of the woods.

See you on Monday,

Bye for now,

Wisley in the sunshine

In May I enjoyed a spring day out with my dear blogging friend Brenda at Wisley, the Royal Horticultural Garden in Surrey. We had such a lovely time that we immediately booked in our diaries our next meeting, which was last week.
The weather could not have been kinder. We had clear blue skies, sunshine and heat. I thought I would share some more photos to show how much a garden can grown in just a few weeks. There was such an explosion of colour.
If you would like to see my post from our spring visit you can see it here

The lovely Brenda.
It was so hot that we escaped into the greenhouses (seriously)
and found that a new fuchsia exhibition had started. There were the most gorgeous varieties on show.
This unusual  variety was one of my favourites.
Many of the greenhouse exotic plants were also flowering.

and how about this very snakey looking specimen!

We even had a visitor to our table as we sat outside and enjoyed our lunch.
After lunch we had a wander around the lakes

followed by a cuppa and a shop in the garden centre.
We had  a fabulous day out, Brenda is a such lovely company and as a fellow gardening fan we have so much to chat about. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have put our next Wisely date into our diaries for September. Wisley will then be showing off her autumnal colours,

My card today was inspired by our sunny visit and is up for sale at Dotty's Teahouse.

I made a sunny flower embossed background for my Lili of the Valley simply print digi image. The stamped sentiment is also Lili of the Valley. I die cut some foliage and a flower from snippets of inky mop up card . A bottle of champers seemed the right embellishment to add. Cheers!

I added some gold glitter the the centre of the flowers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Pixie's snippets playground #330
Crafty calendar 1/3 totally girlie
Crafty Catz 1/3 anything goes/summer fun
As you like it 1/3 favourite occasion  for this card it is birthdays..what is more exciting than celebrating on your own special day and being spoilt.

Things with wings in July

Good morning and welcome to July. Summer really is in full swing now and it is of course time for a brand new challenge over at Country View Crafts. It's an exciting one for me as I am the hostess for this month. I have chosen for my theme "things with wings". I really hope to see lots of lovely projects shared over at the challenge blog and I will visit every entry even if I don't get a chance to comment. I will also be on the look out for my Top 3 and a DT special mention.

I thought I would try to give some extra things with wings ideas for you on my blog today. All the photos were taken by me and some are from my recent holiday.

One of your first thoughts at this time of the year might be............
dragonflies....

or perhaps butterflies......or bees

or birds?
Bats

but don't forget fantasy  wings too....

dragons....unicorns  or cherubims
fairies?

or angels (you could make a start on your Christmas cards)...yes I have said the C word V ;0)

Perhaps the wings of a car..or a large house?

 Or an aeroplane?

I decided for my first share today to be slightly different and make a male card and to use planes as my things with wings....and not real planes...but paper planes 😂😃
First I stamped a background using the VI scripted streets stamps and added some gold embossing paste through a stencil.
When this had dried I added some more script stamping and a little more ink and distressed the background.
I die cut a weather clock and used the Turn back time sentiment
I then stamped and fussy cut out my paper planes.
Mine are the brilliant Visible Image paper planes stamps from the Destination Unknown set which Country View is now stocking with free UK postage.

I then put on my creative hat to put together my things with wings card, which has flown down to sell at Dotty's.
a couple of close ups of my paper planes

Remember that you can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. You many even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.
All the details can be find via this link.

I would also like to enter my card into the following challenges;
