A Mother's love

I have been so busy with DT posts and my own birthday that I have not had time to share more of my darling daughter's recent 30th birthday celebrations. I shared her card and the anti gravity cake I made for her in this post here if you missed it.

Her actual birthday was on the Sunday and we enjoyed a small family lunch together in a lovely Bistro near to where she lives in Southampton. The Bistro overlooks the Solent and we had the upstairs private dining area.

What a lovely view we enjoyed..........
This was the dining area we had to ourselves, set with a large table. The window that the picture above is taken from is at the far end.
I snapped my 2 children chatting.....
and Daisy had space to move around after she had eaten her lunch
She got a bit hot so she took off her little dress and did a spot of dancing to the amusement of the staff below,
Happy families
I decided that I wanted to make a Moment for my journal which encompassed the whole of my daughter's 30th birthday weekend.
I wanted to include the cake I made, the card, the spring weather etc. This is my own "mood" board I made from my photos;
I also wanted to enter some great challenges around so I included their inspiration too.

So this is how my Moment came together.
I wanted to use the same Noor flower image stamp that I had white embossed on her card, this time I stamped it with violet archival ink. I then gold embossed a foral border. I also used my seaside Memoirs Rubber Dance stamp, again stamped with violet archival ink, this was to remember the coastal lunch we enjoyed together
I  using these Little Claire stamps for the border as they were the same shape as the gerbenas on the tables at her party.
I also stamped this lovely Cherish sentiment using an ancient wooden stamp for my stash. It's a very appropriate definition isn't it.
I painted up a Dusty attic chippie piece, a section from their lacey heart frame, with Decoart crackle paste.
and that was the last of my process photos. Once you start spraying and inking it's very difficult to stop and take photos.

So here is my finished Moment.
I used the same colour distress inks as those on my DD's card. The gold embossing acted as a resist. They are my "Cadbury Dairy Milk" colours from her cake I made :0)
You can see the crackle on my heart frame. I used the same glitter card too.
 I added sparkle medium through my TH heart stencil for love, a Mother's love. I die cut 3 very apt TH words; forever, cherish, family as they sum up that wonderful weekend. The birds on the branch die cut are my newest Memory box buy. They represent those lovely trees we looked out to and spotted birds sitting in the branches getting ready for their imminent nest building. The cycle of life in nature.
 Below you can see the shimmer of the glitter card and the gold embossing. You can also see the Rubber dance sea shells I stamped to remind me of our coastal meal.

When I look at this Moment it takes me straight back to that special weekend. I really cherish these Moments and it's so good to have transformed into art in my Journal. It really speaks to me of the Mother's love I have for my babies, big and small ;0)

I would like to enter my Moment into the following challenges;

I had a wonderful birthday lunch with my Hb. We went to Rules in London. It is the oldest restaurant in the city and has been open for over 200 years. It is such an amazing place and I will share a whole post with photos soon. Just for today I wanted to share a couple of photos from my special day.

Here are some of my cards and my Hb even made me one with a photo of my from when we first met in 1979! I'm eating an ice cream at London Zoo.

He also bought me this brilliant travel set.
 Some of my other pressies
 and meet my newest garden pig. Isn't he fab.....my daughter bought him for me

My Hb took this happy photo of me in Rules with my pudding, the staff even brought me out ice cream with a candle to blow.
My challenge piece today sums up my spring birthday mood......these really are the Moments and it's time to party.
I made a version of this for one of my Tim tags last year. This one is for sale in my Etsy shop here

It's got lots of details including some faux stitching. The large stamps are Visible Image, the tag stamps are Lili of the Valley.

Here are some close ups, I used Spring themed distress inks and also distressed all my edges for a very vintage but spring feel.

My first Design Team post for Country View Challenges...and my birthday!

Hello and welcome. I am so thrilled to be sharing my very first DT post for Country view challenges. There is a new challenge up today where the theme is Spring. What a perfect theme for me. You can enter anything crafty, as long as it has a Spring theme. There is a fabulous prize this month up for grabs from Country View Crafts for the winner. This is the link here. Why not pop on over and join in with the fun?

Today is also a very special day as it is none other than my birthday! What a fun way for me to celebrate. I am off out with my darling Hb to celebrate after I have opened my cards and pressies.

For my Spring piece I decided that I would make a card using the very first die I bought from Country View Crafts, a Sizzix accordion die. I love using it for very special cards so it seemed a good choice for today.

I decided to made 2 master boards to decorate the die with so I chose some spring Fresco paint colours and started to brayer on the colours..

 These are the stamps I used
I stamped 2 stamps using paints

 and the rest of the stamping in archival inks

I die cut 4 sections to cover the pages
I also die cut and water coloured some of Tim's new wildflower dies

I also used the memories sentiment from Wendy Vecchi's framed art set as well as her SISI flower stamped on a book page
So then it was time to put on my creative hat and put everything together.

Here it is ;

and some close ups to show the details;

I really hope you have enjoyed seeing my first ever Step by step Design Team piece and I that you might get some inspiration to join in with the Spring challenge.
