The 3 Bears

I bet my blog title caught your attention..... all will be revealed by the end ;0)

Once upon a time (April 2012) my son and his dear girlfriend bought a gorgeous puppy called Bear who is half German Shepherd and half Belgian Malinois.  Dear puppy Bear is growing at an astonishing rate and I thought I would share some recent photos of him. He is only 7 months old and still growing and here he is about a month ago.
What a handsome chap he is becoming  He has been a very good puppy with only a few chewing incidents and has been so well trained. He really does exactly has he is told and is a joy to be with. He loves fetching his ball in the park and is so lucky there is so much land to walk him where my son and his girlfriend live.

He races away at the speed of light..

returns with his ball which he drops at your feet...

and is all ready to fetch again and again. He has such boundless energy and is so full of life.

Recently it was Cs birthday and I had a brainwave to ask my dear lampworking friend Laney if she could make Bear in glass. If you remember, Laney also made the bridesmaids beads for The Wedding. She has such a talent and very much a split personality with her glass skills. She makes very grown up gorgeous floral glass beads and also really fun whimsical beads. Do check out her Etsy shop here and tell her I sent you ;0).She also made some extra floral beads for C that I made into a bracelet she wore at The Wedding. I have not had the chance to show that bracelet so before I show my Bear bead, here is the bracelet I made for dear C.

I added mother of pearl hearts, Czech glass beads and Swarovski crystals to make this. She was delighted with it. As always I thought that a matching bag charm would not go amiss so I made her this as well.

She attached it to her clutch bag and took it to the wedding.

Now originally I had thought of making Laney's Bear bead into a pendant but when my parcel of treasure arrived I found that as well as a Bear in Glass Laney  had made a glass bone with the name Bear written on it.

How amazing are these!!! I decided that I just had to use the bone as well as Bear and knowing how much C loved her wedding bag charm I decided to make a special Bear Bag charm.

And here is what I made...

He even has his tongue hanging out just like the furry Bear. I parcelled her pressie up in a box and I pleased to say that she was delighted with her one of a kind bag charm. She can now take Bear everywhere with her either in real or glass form.
If anyone is interested in my bag charms there is a section of them in my Etsy shop here. I make lots of different themes so do ask if there is something you would like. The Christmas bag charms also make great stocking fillers. Please "bear" (pun intended) in mind that Laney's Bear bead was custom made and I could not possibly sell any similar bag charms at the standard price of £6.75. My bag charms do have lovely glass one of a kind lampwork beads, but they are just round ones.
My card challenge card today just has to have an animal theme to it so I thought long and hard and came up with this fun card.
It's my lovely Sugar Nellie stamp called  Bear Hug . I coloured her with my Promarkers and highlighted her with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the papers from my stash. I also used some Baker's twine to tie the spotty buttons.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
Penny Black Allsorts Animal Magic
Penny Black and More Sketch

I couldn't resist the sticking out tongue, he looks so smiley and happy in the pics with his sticky out tongue, bet he could give Defi a run for his bones :O)and Iz would love to play ball, its her favourite game, but she is rubbish at giving it back you have to wrestle her to the ground! What a beautiful card and those beads, I had forgotten what they look like. Glad it was a fab birthday. xx

  27. Hi Teresa, good to see you back. I did respond to your comment some time ago? As I said before I don't just sell the beads as I have had to buy them myself, they are wired as pendants. I could sell one without the chain if you are interested? Email me if you are interested.

  34. Oh dear Jane...if this is Bear at 7 months goodness knows what size he'll be when full grown! I worried when we got Rocky because his paws were huge as a puppy but thankfully he didn't grow as big as we feared phew! C's bracelet and bag charm for the wedding are beautiful...Liz is extremely talented. The Bear charm and bone are fabulicious and love that charm too. Your Gorjuss Girl card is so pretty...love the pp and your coloring is perfect. xx
