One of the best kinds of weekend; Daisy time and crafting

Last weekend was time spent with Daisy and her Mummy and Daddy on Saturday and then on Sunday a Prima workshop. Such a great combo!

Saturday was the best day for weather which was very fortunate so we enjoyed a country walk to a lovely bistro by the sea for a drink and snack in the sunshine. We met these 2 souls on the way who obliged me with a photograph.

Daisy had fallen asleep in her buggy at this point so missed saying hello to them.
once we reached the coast we walked along to the Marina.
to the new Bistro which has opened there with a pretty garden. We found some shade for Daisy to snooze
whilst we enjoyed a drink and cake

watched over by this little fellow
who sung his little heart out to us

It was such a pretty setting in the spring sunshine. All the leaves are coming out on the trees too.

This provided the perfect colour inspiration for my workshop I went to on Sunday.
This was the sample below which we were shown as an example.
We were given free reign with colour choices and stencil shapes.

I decided to use photo of Daisy and I which was taken over my birthday weekend earlier this month. We were shown how to add texture to our canvas and added micra sprays. I went for green and yellow as there was no blue spray available. I managed to make some blue where my yellow and green combined. I love the way my mists  of paint flare out.
I thought about where I wanted to put my photo and then removed it to add some more textures and details.

These were the other projects from the ladies on my table. It's always so interesting how different everyone else's looks.

I built up the layers...such messy fun. I added micro beads and some soft gel, which I coloured blue with acrylic paint, through a stencil, to remind me of that blue sky and sea from the day before. I made up the green paste by adding green micra powder.

We even drew scibbly flowers which we cut out and added
I have put the finishing touched to my canvas during this week. So would you like to see my finished canvas...................?

Here it is

and some close ups

lots of stenciling

an arty shot
and one final one.

This is the first canvas (it measures 10 x 10") I have ever made. I must admit I am really pleased with how it turned out and I am going to hang it in my garden studio. It will make me smile and think of little Daisy Jane whenever I look at it.

I would like to enter my mixed media canvas into the following challenges;

Mixed media monthly use bright colours
Inspiration Journal everything goes
Top Tip Tuesday 3 of something I used 3 scribble flowers.

Another week has nearly flown by and I noticed that next week is the last in April...wow how did that happen. Thanks for visiting me here and for the enthusiastic comments you leave. I really do appreciate them, I am so enjoying my creative journey. I want to try share some more of my jewellery and crochet projects too soon.  I just wish there were a  few more hours in the day! Some clouds have reappeared today taking up some of the clear blue sky. We are getting some cooler temperatures but hey, we have only just started spring. The recent taste of summer we have enjoyed has been such a bonus.

Bye for now,

Back soon,

Jane x
