I have been busy dead heading and watering in my garden and thoroughly enjoying the long, warm, light evenings. It's such a great time of year and everyone's energy levels are raised.
We have also enjoyed eating our evening meal outside most nights.
Today's card I made my for darling Dad for Father's Day. He loves his garden and the wildlife out there and so I used my Stampendous bird stamp. The border die is Cheery Lynn.
I made the backing with some of my bister powders and then stamped and embossed the image.
I inked and added Crackle paste to the branch. The backing paper is Tim Holtz and the scrabble stamps are Whimsy.
I would like to enter my Father's Day card into the following challenges;
Anything but cute make it masculine
Mixed media world masculine/father's day
Sparkles vintage or shabby chic
Penny Black and more wings
Stamping sensations dies and punches
The Artistic Stamper summer is on its way
Noor! UK here comes summer
A vintage journey celebrations mine of course is Father's Day
As you like it favourite book My dad loves wildlife especially birds and has lots of reference books. When I was a little girl he had the "Observer's" serious of book. I used the Observer's book of birds for my inspiration, sweet memories, they had such gorgeous illustrations in them. I wonder if they are still in print?
Allsorts use a stamp
Cheery Lynn anything goes
Simon says stamp Wednesdays favourite technique or product I have used both this time...stamping and embossing and also using Bister powders. I love this product.
We love to create anything goes mixed media
The Craft Barn bow or bows I have used a bow to finish off the button
The sun is breaking through here. We'll enjoy our lunch in the garden later and then head off to catch up with the children.
Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there; whether they are young or old, here or in the next world. And to my own Dad...thanks for being such a rock in my life.
Welcome to summer.....ice cream, sunshine, blue skies...............mmm I can't wait.
Back soon,
Bye for now,
Jane x

ReplyDeleteYour garden looks amazing.
I envy your collection of succulents!
Thank You~
A lovely display of garden photos Jane, everything really looks at it's best right now. Last evening I stood in the courtyard area of the garden which is surrounded by shrubs and the aroma was lovely, yet no single one seems particularly fragrant and in the background the birds were singing, nature is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour Dad's card is perfect and the use of the hessian gives a real masculine feel and the Timmy branch a great touch to go with the image.
