We spend some lovely moments with our darling granddaughter Daisy and I love to record these as mixed media "Moments" in my physical Jane's Journal.
On a recent visit we went to her nursery bar b q and on the way home we visited the swing park. Daisy's favourite activity is going down the slide and she can spend ages going up and down and up and down...squealing with delight as she does so.
I really love buying Daisy clothes and this dress is one of my favourites this summer. I love the rather retro feel and the stripes remind me of ice lollies!
After visiting the swing park Daisy helped me pick strawberries at her house and I shared this photo with you before but I thought I would use it to make my Moment.
She is also a dab hand at helping, if you can call it that, with watering the garden.
So the first thing I wanted to reproduced was the stripes on her dress. I chose some Paperartsy fresco paints.
I wanted some summery texture so I pushed grunge paste through the Flower Power stencil Tracy sent me from the new release. I also added some tissue and some butterfly edge die cuts.
I added some Gesso to tone down the print above.
I then watered down my Fresco paints slightly and made my bold panels of colours, just like Daisy's dress.
Next I decided to wipe back the blue panels slightly and then stamp the Joy Old butterfly postcard stamp with
archival to give it a slightly worn look. (Sadly Tracy says this stamp is now discontinued). I also stamped a great Paperartsy sentiment and added some leaves
I then chose some pieces from the Flower Power Paper Art set.
I would like to enter my Moment into the following challenges;
Scrap across the world July mood board
I was inspired by the gorgeous vibrant colours of the board and also the step make me think of the lines in Daisy's dress. I also wanted to use a butterfly and flowers. My Moment measures 10 x 8"
Die cut Divas summer and patriotism I think my Moment epitomises an English summer day...strawberries....mmm
Art Journal post and postage
Bunny Zoe summer breeze
Mixed Media World stencils
Simon Says stamp Monday I scream, the letter I is for ................ mine is for Inky Play and also Ice lolly as I think my background looks like one ;0)
Stamp and create patterns
Our Creative Corner mexico moods I love the bright vibrant colours of the inspiration photos and used these as well as the steps and the stripes on the wall by the chair
