On Saturday my DD and SIL went to an exhibition in London so we had a Daisy day and decided it was the perfect day for a conker hunt.
The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny but with enough wind to blow the conkers down. They were literally raining down from the trees....Daisy was enchanted...and so was Nanna ;0)
My darling Daisy found so many ripe shiny conkers that she soon filled her little basket.
and of course the best ones are those still in their shells...real conker treasure.
How much joy can one little face contain?
This her sweet card.
So my card today is also inspired by our wonderful weekend, Daisy's clean and simple cream top and the gorgeous autumnal scenes unfolding around me. It's a very CAS style made to sell in Dotty's.
The stamp is by Inkyliscious, the sentiment LOTV and the die cuts a mix of Tim Holtz and Memory box
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
PaperArty autumn
Card Mania Earth tones
Rubber dance 2nd anniv 3/3 2nd anniversary challenge I have used the colour board from October 2015 for my card
Crafty boots 1/3 autumn is in the air
The ribbon girl 2/3 any image
The Paper Girls challenge 2/3 nature
Simon Says Stamp Monday powder powder It doesn't show up very well in my photo but I used clear embossing powder on my stamped sentiment.
Thanks for visiting today. I can thoroughly recommend a conker hunt, even as an adult I will never ever outgrow the joy of finding a newly shelled conker shining up from the ground, Real conker treasure.
I will be back on Thursday with my final DT piece for the current Country View Travel challenge sharing my female card I made with the 2nd half of my masterboard..watch this space ;0)
Bye for now,
Jane x
What a wonderful story and wonderful treasure! Daisy is definitely a crafter in the making with her lovely card and grandma isn't bad either!!...lol....lovely card..like the sentiment on the cloud.
ReplyDeleteWell of course your card is amazing as always Jane but I have to say Daisy's card is stunning....I love it!! Conker hunting is fun especially when you find one still in its shell, I have to admit I have some from our couple of days away earlier in the month, never too old for conker hunting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday,
V x
What a perfect weekend Jane and a great time conkering, I cannot recall them ever raining down on me, I had to get mine the hard way, with a stick.
ReplyDeleteDaisy's card is worthy of an entry in her own right but I have to say that your card is gorgeous, great composition and wonderful central image. Thank you for playing alongwith the Crafty Boots Autumn Challenge.

Your granddaughter is such a precious little girl! I bet you had a great day - looks like it! I love conker hunting, too :-) Daisy's card is great! When she gets older and starts her own stamping blog, I'll be sure to let her know that "I knew you when...".
ReplyDeleteThank you for entering our challenge at Rubber Dance once more this month! ♥ Gorgeous card, Jane! Love that circle.
Loved seeing Daisy conker hunting and finding! I think she needs a little woven basket, Nanna. :-) She did a wonderful stamping project, she's learning very well from you. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what a conker was until I saw the picture. What will you do with them? Roast them?? We find many that were"hidden" by Mr. squirrel in our ivy fence. It is driving my hubby nuts:) Now...That little girl has talent! I am not just saying that because so many at that age, would just stamp wherever they want and make a mess but she has a keen eye for form and placement plus what colours to choose. I also love your card-it's just so simple yet elegant with the window of autumn and the leaves with the birthday message
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Daisy day, she is really growing so fast and obviously loves being taken out and about. Love how she is so confident with using inks and stamps and is developing a great eye for design. Love your card too, cant wait to see Dotty's next week xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet sight....how lovely that Daisy is learning the joys of conker hunting with you Jane...and the joys of crafting too! I still love to find conkers (and shells on the beach) as much as ever...a lifelong hobby!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Isn't it lovely how sometimes the simplest things can hold such precious memories! Daisy's little face is lit up with her conker treasure and it will be something for her to remember and hopefully do with her children in years to come!
ReplyDeleteShe has definitely inherited the crafty gene from her Nana and is becoming quite an accomplished little crafter with her own style...your card's not bad either! ;)
Lovin' all the colours of Autumn that are around at the moment, so warm and rich...only problem with Autumn is that I know what comes next! Hope you have a lovely day, hugs, Lisa x
What a day for you to hold close in you heart and to remember forever. I still clearly remember the excitement and joy of finding shinny conkers when I was young, and then again when my to children were small. It is a coincidence, but only last Friday I had parked my car to visit a friend, opened the car door and saw, to my delight dozens of conkers scattered across the grass. It has been a good few years since I looked for conkers, as my two babies, are now in their late teens and it made me smile, to feel that same buzz all over again, as I I started collecting some conkers.Thank you for sharing these delightful photos and reminding me again of the buzz I felt last Friday :) I am delighted to have just fit pond you lovely blog and will be making time to pop by to see more of you cheerful, posts.
