Yes you read the title correctly and I just had to share what I found in the supermarket on Tuesday.
How hilarious is this packet.
Yes wonky veg. I was just looking for a packet of onions and picked them up.
I looked and looked
trying to find a wonky onion....and there isn't one in there. The only "problem" with the onions is that they are a bit on the small side. Mad isn't it. Well I know how to solve that....just use two instead of one. The packet weighed the same 1kg and were half the price of my usual packet. I had no hesitation buying them and feeling smug with my savings I decided to treat myself this pretty little pot of my favourite Tete a Tete daffodils.
Looking at the bulbs they looked just like my wonky onions...better make sure that I don't accidental eat them......LOL!
The sun was streaming in as I took these photos....a real whiff of spring.
and my other pot of daffs is still in flower...I have had 12 flowers in 2 flushes from this little pot...such a bargain.
My card today was inspired by thoughts of spring....it's one I have made for Dotty's
Lots of spring coloured snippets of inky card used for my die cuts...topped off with a VI stamped butterfly and one of my oldest and favourite sentiment stamps...it's even wooden!
Nothing wonky here though 😌
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

So remember to look out for these wonky veg....they need a good home and with the money you save you can put it towards buying some potted bulbs and watch them bloom. Like my wonky onions they will be beautiful on the inside.

I was looking at the wonky carrots in there the other day, they weren't wonky, either! love the little pot of daffodils.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the wonky veg, I must keep a look out, I'm not bothered what shape my veg are!
ReplyDeleteLove your little pot of daffs and your pretty card too....love blue and green! :)
Happy evening my dear,

Now I've heard everything!! Whatever next. Love your card and I think that pot your daffs are in is brilliant. Hugs Mrs A.

Oh what a lovely card!! So stunning!! That little pot of flowers is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteWhat has the world come to? I'd much rather have wonky veg and know that every bit is being used for the purpose it was grown for and to have it cheaper as well - now that's a real bonus in my books. Love your pretty card. Huge hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteBack again for the Butterfly challenge. I love the filigree green background and every time I see that Cloe stem I think I should have bought it. Still on my wish list! Thank you so much for fluttering by . Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteAn extremely pretty creation Jane and I love your choice of colours, many thanks for sharing your favourite stamp with us at Penny Black and More challenge.

Beautiful card Jane and super use of snippets as well. Wonky veg have been on sale in supermarkets for a while now - the EU rules about what makes a perfect vegetable are so stupid. And eventually a couple of supermarket chains (Tesco I think is the other one) joined in with 'wonky veg'. Such a great idea - we waste far too much food IMHO. And, it's a novelty factor - who knows what you might find :)

I love my wood stamps:) This is so pretty and loving that butterfly and the die cut background
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I love the pretty butterfly. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers!
ReplyDeleteOh I get so cross about the supermarkets and their idea that we all want "perfect" (ie big, even and probably tasteless) fruit and veg - wonky or not, who can tell the difference when they're sliced and fried? It's not as if we're all arranging our veg into fancy still life displays!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your lovely card makes up for all that, I love all the different die cuts and the kraft background is perfect to show them off
Jane
Very pretty Jane. I really like that green die-cut background. Kate x

Such a pretty card, love your daffs, I love when the spring bulbs hit the stores, I bought myself a pot of tulips the other day!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for joining us at Cute Card Thursday this week!

I always go for the basics in the supermarket if I can, there never seems to be a problem with the quality and it saves them going to landfill which is such a waste. What is it with people who want even sized fruit and veg, it tastes the same.
ReplyDeleteA great use of your snippets by the way!
Thanks for sharing at HLS. :)
Love your creation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us for our Creative Moments Challenge
We look forward to seeing you again next time.
