Good morning, did you get a chance to see the Create and Craft TV shows this weekend? You might have spotted the card I am sharing today for my weekly dose of Visible Image. (It was on the Saturday show and my little crabs waved out!) The shows can still be viewed for the next 7 days on catch up on the Create and Craft website here
I wanted to design a card showing how the new Written in the stars zodiac stamps work so well with the existing Visible Image stamp range.
I used a very summery palette, although we can still only dream of summer at the moment.
I wanted to design a card showing how the new Written in the stars zodiac stamps work so well with the existing Visible Image stamp range.
I used a very summery palette, although we can still only dream of summer at the moment.
To put you in the mood, how about a couple of summery photos to cheer us up from my holidays' past.
I starting inking my background with salty ocean and and broken china distress oxide inks, using lots of water on my watercolour card. Once dry I blended on some spiced marmalade oxide ink.
Awww, sand between you toes...what a wonderful thought.
We also regularly see freshwater crabs on Rhodes in the butterfly valley and this gave me the idea for my card....
I starting inking my background with salty ocean and and broken china distress oxide inks, using lots of water on my watercolour card. Once dry I blended on some spiced marmalade oxide ink.
I stamped lots of the fab crabs from the Cancer Zodiac set and inked them using the matching distress ink colours
I used broken china distress ink to add some stencilling to them using the fibres stencil.
To give their shells some extra texture I added some Ranger clear rock candy crackle.
I used stamps from the Organics set as my seaweed,
I stamped and embossed them using frantage..you will see the sparkle more in a later photo.
I also added some more fibres stencilling to create some "waves" in my background
I stamped some of the words from Destination unknown and some of the fab paper boats which I fussy cut out and added the Cancer birth date details to.
I then put together my crab card...on a great adventure but with their "Destination unknown"
I thought the crabs could "hold" the sentiments.
Here are a couple of close ups
IRL there is a lot of sparkle on my card, difficult to show in my photos but I think the close ups give you an idea.
and one final shotI hope I have been able to show you some different ways of combining your Visible Image stamps and may have also brought a little bit of sunshine to you on a cold winter's day.
