In the light of the blue moon

On Wednesday we were promised the spectacle of the brightest biggest full moon we would see for 150 years. It was also a blue moon..ie more than one full moon in the month. We did have pretty clear skies but I must admit that I have seen bigger moons in the past. One thing for certain though was the moon was incredibly bright. My little camera could not cope with the huge contrast so my photos don't show the man in the moon who smiled out at me.
Here are a couple of photos I took but as I say they don't show his lovely "face"
 The brightness was very striking.

There is usually so much detail to see on the moon.... I took this photo some time ago  and thought I would show it.
So Mr Moon inspired me to make another of my Lavinia fairy cards to restock Dotty's teahouse.
I thought my fairy could hold the moon in her hands...what a lovely thought.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Crafty Catz 1/3 anything goes
Simon says Wednesday anything goes
That's Crafty feeling blue
Sweet stampin 1/3 anything but birthdays

Enjoy a lovely weekend, we have a special visitor...Bear our son's dog...and yes Billy is in his upstairs apartment 😂

Back on Monday with my weekly dose of Visible Image inspiration.

Bye for now,

Jane x

  2. I wish I had been up for it. We were all under the weather and Portland was probably overcast anyway : )

  3. The blue super blood red moon was beautiful above us too. No clouds til it got high up...just a bit. Didn't become blood red til the end when it was near the horizon as it set....and an eclipse as well....yes, really. I didn't know all of it til the day of..blood red moon. I was too tired to take photos of it and enjoyed seeing it. Shined into our dining room between the mini blinds and window casing....scared me at first! I like your fairy holding the moon card. Happy weekend!

  4. Awe what a sweet little card!!
I have to be honest I was slightly underwhelmed by the moon on Wednesday, I think I was expecting a lot more......it certainly has seemed much closer to us in the past. There is another blue moon in March and no full moon at all this month!
    Enjoy your weekend my friend,

  8. Sweet! I like the playfulness of your fairy. I missed the big moon. I guess I'll have to wait another 150 years or so to catch the next one :)
