The Farnborough February 2020 Create It show with Stampers Grove

Hello I am back from my crafting adventures at Farnborough and what a fab 2 days I had demoing for James of Stampers Grove at the Create It Show.
I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to take many photos but luckily James came to the rescue and sent me most of these in this post, thanks James!

Here I am at start up, 9.30 am on Friday holding my "Free your Imagination" sample, one of the new Visible Image release...
the next time I looked up it was 1.45pm! So very busy but such fun.

and here is James, myself and Karen Telfer who was demonstrating James' other stamp brands at start of play on Saturday morning.
Below is such a funny photo...do you think I am gazing to the heavens for inspiration or wondering if my sample board from other shows above my head is going to fall on me? 😂😃😂
James captured me with my oxide sprays and the new Renaissance stencil...yummy!

Below is a few of the many demos I gave. My sample I made (shared at the bottom of this post) using the new 2020 vision set was a big draw to the stand so I demonstrated it several times in several ways! I used Brushos, Infusions,oxides both pads and sprays and alcohol inks in my demos.

So some fun facts.....my top 3 most asked questions....

How do you "do" that Visible Image eye (which is why there are so many versions of the 2020 vision set in my photos)
What ink is best for stamping with?
What card is best for stamping with?

Below is the sample I made for James to take round the country to his shows. It is a real rainbow of colour, using Brushos (which were really popular at the show).

with a couple of close ups;

and one last shot.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Pixies snippets playground #372 I used 3 snippets of cloud to make my clouds with.
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes
Crafty cats 1/3 anything goes
Cute card Thursday 1/3 square
Simon says stamp Wednesday 1/3 Add a sentiment
Addicted to stamps and more 1/3 make your mark

I had such lovely support from everyone I met and if you came( I did meet a couple of my lovely blog followers too), thank you so much for supporting my work and my creative journey.

Now the fun doesn't stop here as contrary to me usually staying in the south I am off to the NEC Birmingham Creative craft show in March. I will be demonstrating for Stampers Grove on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th March (which is my daughter's 34th birthday and the first day of spring too).

So if you would like to find out the answer to my 3 top questions, pop along to the Stampers Grove stand there on the Thursday or Friday and I will be delighted to show you!
I always make a badge to wear and I already have an idea.....as it is the first day of spring...perhaps some spring leaves might feature 😎......stay tuned and thanks again.
Stampers Grove also has an online shop here which offers FREE postage on all orders over £30. When James gets back to Scotland he will be adding the brand new VI release to the site...so if you can't wait for the next show you can order directly from him.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Things with wings in February for STAMPlorations

Hello and a very warm welcome to the third of my four "Things with wings" special post for STAMPlorations

If you would like to see my other 2 posts shared last October and December, you can see them here and here
This feature is every 2 months on the 3rd Monday of the month. The details for February are here. I have linked all the products I have used to the website.

For my first card I worked with these fabulous products
Gorgeous stencil
Grateful flutters stamp set
and a sentiment from the  birthday bash stamp set
First I stenciled the face onto card using Versafine Claire Nocturne ink. Shery's face stencils are just amazing!
Then I stamped butterflies around her head.
I also stamped lots of butterflies onto different pieces of inky mop up card and paper and cut them out, cutting off their antennae
I then stamped the butterflies and paper pieced them.
Finally I stamped and pink embossed the sentiment and added glitter and glossy accents to her lips to make them sparkle.
For my second card I worked with these awesome products;
Fluttery butterfly stamps
 and the Magic, say it big sentiment stamp
I used PaperAtsy Infusions to make an inky background
and then stamped the sentiment and the butterflies.
I coloured the butterflies using Zig watercolour brush markers

and added a few sequins for some sparkle.
If you leave a comment here and/on the store blog you could also be the lucky randomly chosen winner of a $15 gift code to spend on the website. One winner will be chosen from all the comments left on the special December Things with wings posts. All the details are for February are here.

 I will be back with my 4th and final Things with wings installment on April 20th.

Visible Image Total chaos

The new Visible Image release launched on Saturday and is selling like hot cakes. One of the new sets is particularly popular as it is a bigger version of Creative Chaos, one of their best selling sets and a real favourite of so many stampers, including me.
Please can I introduce you to Total chaos
This is a large A5 size set which means that there are now 3 sizes of the awesome inky flower. A tiny version is in the new Accessorize set a small and very reasonable priced A7 size set. I will share some projects made with this very soon.
and this of course is the original
Creative Chaos which is an A6 size set.
The very first card I ever made with Creative Chaos is this card in January 2019
I used book pages from my beloved A Tale of 2 cities for the bloom and it is my most pinned card on Pinterest. Here it is
So when I saw the new Total Choas I knew I just had to use book pages again, as I did for my first make with Creative Chaos and this time I decided to make a canvas.

This is what I got up to;
(Apologies that there are not a lot of process photos here as I have been so busy making samples. I just did not get time to stop and keep taking snaps especially with very inky hands).
I decided I wanted to make  a background to make me think ahead to spring days and used lots of ink sprays and water on heavyweight watercolour paper. They are a mix of distress sprays; pine needles, mustard seed, wild honey, grass and turquoise Dylusions greens plus some tarnished brass metallic spray.
I cut myself a 5 x 7" piece from it and stamped the flower to get an outline and placement for my canvas.
I then stamped the scribble stamp over the top in orange archival ink.
Out came my well used Tale of 2 cities and I stamped the flower and 2 of the small flowers onto a page and cut them out. I also added some stamping around the edge of the canvas using archival ink and the other background stamps.
I stamped the sentiment onto a snippet of card, cut it out and mounted it on black card. I added Glossy Accents to the large circle and to some of the circles in the background, I wanted it to appear as dewdrops.

Here is my finished canvas; You can see it in the flesh on the Visible Image Facebook LIVE tonight.
 with some close ups

 and one last shot.
I would like to enter it into the following challenges;

Pixie's snippets playground #371 I used a snippet of white card for my sentiment and and slightly bigger snippet of black to mount it on!

1 week until Create It, Farnborough.

The Create It craft and hobby show, Farnborough, Hampshire is just a week away now. I will be there both days, 21st and 22nd February demonstrating Visible Image stamps and stencils on the Stampers Grove stand for James Dennison. I have been beavering away getting lots of samples/demos made using the brand new release and some golden oldies, all of which James will have for sale at the show. He has some great show specials on the day which are worth looking out for.

I will be demonstrating using lots of the wonderful inky products he sells including distress oxides, alcohol inks, Brushos and Infusions.

I thought I would share a few more sneak peeks of the samples/demos I will be bringing with me.

First up is a set of motivational ATCs I have made using Gellplate backgrounds and distress oxides. I have used lots of Visible Image awesome sentiments stamps and stencils to make them.

I had the idea to make a card where the words can be taken out and changed by adding photo corners. It could be stood on a desk and the ATC changed each day for motivation and inspiration.
I would like to enter my ATCs into the following challenges;

We love 2 create 3/3 anything goes
Stamping sensations 2/3 feminine
Addicted to stamps and more 2/3 anything goes
Alphabet challenge 1/3 A is for anything you wish

I will also be bringing the sample/demo below which I have made with the brand new "Free your imagination" stamp set and the "Broken glass" stencil in the background.
The background again was made with distress oxides. In real life the gold on the pages is super sparkly!

I would like to enter my Free your imagination card into these challenges.

Love to craft 3/3 anything goes
Simon says stamp Monday crack it up
Through the craft room door 2/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes
Crafty catz 1/3 anything goes (optional twist of critters)

It would be lovely to see you if you are planning to come to the show, please stop by and say hi. I will be behind this badge so just......
Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind comments you take the time to leave me,

Happy Valentine's day to those soppy romantics like me. Have a wonderful day. I am off out to dinner tonight with my sweetheart to celebrate 41 years since we got engaged.
Have a lovely weekend. My crafting buddy aka Daisy is coming to stay on Sunday until Wednesday so we shall be having lots of inky crafting adventures together.

Wisley Houseplant takeover inspiration

Good afternoon, I recently visited Wisley RHS gardens with my dear blogging friend Brenda. We enjoy regular catch ups and every time we visit there is something new to see. A new exhibition is running in the greenhouses until March called "The Giant Houseplant Takeover" and what fabulous take over it is.

They have created 6 "rooms" which have been literally taken over by houseplants...
How brilliant is this dressing table in the bedroom.
This is the entrance...they must have had such fun making up the names and creating the scenes.

I adore succulents so this dining table display to me was just perfection
but I think you would be in for a surprise if you sat on one of these chairs 😄
Bath anyone?

There are so many fun details to spot..cheers, mine is a G&T please.
At the exit you take a token to vote for your favourite of the six rooms...Entrance, living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room or bathroom. I voted for the dining room but I wonder what you might choose, they are all just splendid.
Our wonderful visit inspired my make today,which is also one of my samples I am making with the brand new Visible Image release which is on preorder now and is released this Saturday 15th February.

This is one of a pair of tags I have made, I will share a step by step and the other tag soon but you will see them on the Visible Image Facebook Live this weekend.
The set is called Break free

My flower has spotted the sunshine and has broken free from the vase...shattering it in its excitement! I wonder if it has gone to join the houseplants at Wisley 😊

A close up of the shattered glass and spilt water, which in real life is very textured indeed. My recipe for making this  is secret for now but all will be revealed soon!
and one last shot.
I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges;

Love to craft 2/3 anything goes
Crafty sentiments 3/3 anything goes
Unicorn blog 3/3 anything goes
Cute card Thursday 2/3 anything goes
We love 2 create 2/3 anything goes
Simon says stamp Monday crack it up
Stamping sensations 1/3 feminine
Addicted to stamps and more 1/3 anything goes
Through the craft room door 1/3 anything goes

It's now only 9 days until I will be demonstrating for Stampers Grove at the Create It! show in Farnborough, Hampshire. It runs 21-22nd February. I will be there both days sharing lots of tips and techniques, all  the new Visible Image stamps and stencils release plus lots of oldies too.
Remember to look for my badge I will be wearing and.....
It would be lovely to see you there.
