Bunny burrow

Hello all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Their new February release has really taken the crafting world by storm. Today, as promised, I wanted to share the step by step of my Bunny Burrow card, one I made as my design team sample for the brilliant Happy Bunny stamp set. This sets is has a gorgeous detailed large bunny stamp with some cute smaller silhouette ones and some fun sentiments including a very useful "Happy Easter"

I had the idea of making the bunny emerge from his burrow using awesome and super popular Supernova stencil to make this.

This is what I got up to;

I used a piece of distress ink shaving foam marbled card from my stash. I put the stencil in place and using vintage photo distress ink blended it through the stencil. I then cut this down to 5 1/2" square.

I cut out some of the centre and distressed the edges with a distressing tool (or use your scissors) I stamped the 3 small bunnies round the edges and 2 at the bottom in Versafine clair Acorn which I clear embossed for extra texture and shine.

I stamped the bunny head twice; once onto kraft card (5 3/4" square) and once onto a scrap of white.
 The white image I coloured with distress pencils and cut out minus the whiskers. Don't worry no bunnies were injured during this procedure 😂. I then glued it over the image on the kraft card (which replaced the whiskers)

I popped  him into his burrow and glued him in place.

I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment onto an offcut of card and glued it in place. For a little finishing touch I stamped the hearts from the set around the stencilled burrow and added some flower soft to resemble soil. I adhered the card front onto the kraft card, matted it onto green card and then a white square card blank

Here is my finished card.

 I also organize a monthly artist trading card swap in the group.  We celebrated a whole year of swapping in May 2022. Whether you are a new stamper or a seasoned one you are most welcome to join us. Over 110 members, worldwide, have taken part since it started. It's been such fun and it's so lovely to receive a unique piece of art from your partner in the post. The details and sign up for each swap are posted in the group on the 23rd of the month. So the next sign up, for March, opens on 23rd February,  if you would like to join us.  There is no "monthly" commitment, just join in when you have the time and if you live in the UK can you choose to post to the UK only if that suits you best.

Finally a little heads up before I go that in just over 3 weeks time I am delighted be demoing all things Visible Image (and distress ink) again for Country View Crafts, one of Visible Image's UK stockists, at the Crafterama "Crafting at Ally Pally show" at Alexandra Palace in London. If you came last March it would be so lovely to see you again. If not why not put the date in your diary? The show is running the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th March. We had such fun last year. I will again be offering a little crafting giveaway in a randomly selected draw for anyone who stops by our stand. I will have all the new release with me plus more. Susan will have a fab stock of Visible Image stamps, stencils and the layering dies on the stand.

Here is a photo from last year's show;

I will also have an "Easter" bunny burrow card to share at the show using another of the great sentiments in the  Happy Bunny set and 2 daffodils from the beautiful new Golden daffodils set.

Bye for now,
