The Funkie Junkie's tags of Christmas #10 with a Jane's Journal twist

Fortunately for me Linda had a week off last week so I able to catch up with Tag #10 at the weekend.If you would like to join in with this challenge the details are all here. There are also some great prizes up for grabs as the challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique. All 12 creations need to be uploaded onto her blog by 22 Dec so you need to get your skates on! Linda's tag for inspiration this week is here. I was drawn to the gorgeous holly stencilled stamping and the subtle coloured background with a few really bright red accents. I also loved the sparkly frame surrounding the sentiment. The main thing I was inspired by was holly.

Here is my card for this week. The light is so poor at the moment that I really struggled to get a good photo.

I know how everyone is enjoying seeing how I have created these cards so again I took some photos of my creative process.

I made my background card using my distress inks. I then found some old holly stamps from my stash (as I do not own any stencils, they are on my wish list). I stamped them randomly over the card and  then gave the edge a bright red lick with festive berries distress ink.

 I highlighted the berries with red glitter (my camera and the lack of daylight has made this look rather pink but in real life it is a lovely rich red).

I decided to keep to the holly theme and cut some holly leaves out using my Cheery Lynn holly leaves die using some lovely pearlescent green card from my stash. I added some "berries" I bought from Wilkinson's.

I decided to use some gold glitter card for my frame and then mounted my Lili of the Valley sentiment inside. I also wanted to use some red organza ribbon.
I finished my card off with some gold and green coloured gems  in the corners.
Here is one last close up.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

I need to get cracking then...ho ho ho!
