Creative stamping Magazine issue 92

Hi blogging friends I thought I would just pop in and share my latest magazine design team commission for Creative Stamping magazine. Issue 92 of Creative Stamping goes on sale in the shops today. The 2 sets of stamps which come with this issue are just perfect for sporty peeps and for cards/projects for younger adults, which are often quite hard to design for. Also the sentiments in the A4 set are really inspiring.

Obviously I can't share all my makes here...you would need to buy the magazine of course 😉 but this is my racing card card which you can spot in the bottom left corner of the cover.

 Below is my sneak peek card which if you click on the link here you can also get step by step instructions for.
This is my own photo of the card
As always  I made an extra card or 2 using the stamps and this is a sneak peek of my son's birthday card for next month. The background was made with distress inks. He is an avid tennis player and fitness fan and the stamps were perfect to use.
Here are some close ups of the very cool stamps, I even coloured the trainers to match the ones he has!

and one last shot....…literally....with the tennis ball 😊
Issue 92 can be bought from Supermarkets etc (if you still go into them!) or on line from several suppliers including  Craft Stash (and no I don't get commission from them!)

I would like to enter my tennis card into the following challenges;

Stamping sensations 2/3 favourite stamps
Simon says stamp Wednesday make your own background
Through the craft room door anything goes
Passion for Markers anything goes my markers are Zig watercolour brush pens
Crafty sentiments anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are all staying safe, well and busy.

Back soon,

Hope and love

Good morning. Happy new Visible Image year. I am back today with my first design team post of 2021 for Visible Image. Before I share that make I also wanted to share one other make. Despite the lovely month long DT holiday we enjoyed I always love creating with my Visible Image products. You may have seen the card below I made for my son to greet the year using Phoenix rising on social media. If you would like to see my makes on Instagram you can find me here.

It was an adaption of the design I made for the November launch of the new stamps. It really has to be "the" set to use for this year and all the current world issues with the Pandemic.

So back to my DT make.....We have a challenge running over in our customer Facebook page called "Hope and Colour "where we would like you to use inspiring words and bright colours. It would be great to see you join us, all the details are at the bottom of this post. There is a whopping £40 coupon prize for 1st place and 2 runner up prizes of £25 coupons. All winners are drawn randomly so everyone has a chance to win and you can enter as many times as  you like!

For some inspiration for the challenge I decided to work with these 3 awesome, and very relevant for 2021, stamp sets.

Love is love

and the hope sentiment from the Equality hope and love set.
This is what I got up to ;

I made a very simple Brushos background using rose red sprinkled some onto watercolour card which I had wetted first with my distress sprayer. Once dry I stamped the sentiment in place.
I then stamped in black Archival and clear embossed the insects from  Summer wings onto acetate coloured with alcohol inks. I fussy cut them out.
I stamped in black and clear embossed the left handed face from Love is love onto a piece of inky mop up card and cut it out.

I coloured in a few of the elements with watercolour pens, adding glossy accent to some of the circles. I then put everything together.

Here is my finished card.

Keeping square with our Country View January challenge

 It's time for my 2nd design team make for our current "Squares" challenge over at Country View. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website. For my first make I shared a new year's card using Visible Image stamps. Today I am using one of their stencils and a different stamp set to make a card to send to someone who might need cheering up.

My daily visits to feed my dinos certainly lift my sprits and I saw this gorgeous swan pair too.

To make the background for my card I first roughly blended squeezed lemonadetwisted citron  broken china distress oxides onto white cardstock.

I then used the square route stencil and added faded jeans oxide.

Next I stamped and cut out the typewriter from the "One kind word" stamp set. Susan is out of stock of this at the moment but does have lots of other Visible Image stamps and stencils on the website.
I stamped one of the words onto the typewriter paper and also one of the sentiments from the set onto the card. Before adhering the typewriter I stamped the letters cascade in green archival ink.

Here it is finished.

The January blues

Hello blogging friends. I hope you are all keeping well? Here in the UK the pandemic is taking a turn for the worse and cases are rises exponentially . The vaccine is thankfully being rolled out very quickly and let's really hope that this surge can soon be controlled.  My daughter (an NHS doctor) has had her first jab and my parents who are in their late 80s are hoping to be called up very soon. My Hb continues to work from home and I have now moved indoors again from my garden studio to craft so we are cozied up indoors for now with Billy our dear cat.  I get out for my daily walks and most days go to see my sweet dino ducks who never cease to make me smile.

I thought I would share a few recent photos of the lovely blue skies we have enjoyed recently despite the cold and show some photos taken in the week of my sweet dinos.

and as the sun went down it shone beautifully through the willow tree.

Dotty's Teahouse, where I sell my cards has now had to shut for any takeaways so I have had some crafting time to experiment, which is always fun.  It's not me but my crafting which has taken on "The blues" for the last week. I take part in a monthly artist trading card and coins swap and this was the theme. I made my cards and coins with the same theme and then my imagination took over and I decided to make a tag with "the blues".

I have already posted these on Instagram where I just celebrated my 1,000 post. If you would like to find me this is the link

I made some winter blues artist trading cards using Lavinia stamps

a "Blue starry tree" tag with an oxide galaxy background with Tim Holtz dies

and some "Playing the blues" coins using Visible Image stamps

I would like to enter my coins into the following challenges;

Allsorts favourite colour no guess as to mine...blue of course!
Crafty friends 1/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes
Cute card Thursday 1/3 anything goes
Stamping sensations 1/3 favourite stamps these Visible Image Jazz it up stamps are one of my very favoruite male sets.

I have been keeping very busy with my crafting with some secret, for now projects, too which I will share as soon as I can.
Stay safe, stay indoors and stay positive.  Please take great care. Keep mindful, things will improve in the coming months, we just need to get through these difficult weeks ahead.

Back soon,

Bye for now,
