Believe with your mind

   Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. The new autumn release is now for sale worldwide and has gone down a storm. There are 9 gorgeous new sets to choose for and if you have been sleeping under a log (with the cute hedgehog) and missed them do check them out on the website here. I have already shared lots of my makes with the 3 nature sets so I thought I would share something different today.

I used one part of the gorgeous new Create with your soul A7 size set . This emotive sentiment was written many years ago by Helen, aka Mrs Visible Image and was a best seller. It has been updated and this new variation is now in 3 parts, it is not a single stamp, which makes it so versatile. You can use any part or all 3!

I teamed it with the delightful tree and birds from the VI minis #1 set. This a a set with some of their iconic stamps....in ATC or mini size. I am hoping to see lots more of these sets in the future.

I wanted to capture a moonlit autumnal moment so I created a distress ink background first.

I took a square of super smooth 300gsm card stock. I used salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo and dusty concord inks. I masked off a moon after I had added a little smudge of kitsch and patina ink and then blended out from the moon starting with kitsch, then patina and finally dusty colours.  I then ripped some copy paper to make the "hills" and added a little more patina and dusty ink colour.

This was my finished background.

I then stamped the tree in Versafine clair

with the birds flying out.

The Create with your soul set is in 3 parts so you can mix and match as you feel or use all 3 parts. I chose to you just the "Believe with your mind" part as it really fitted the scene I had created. I stamped it just under the moon and clear embossed it for extra texture and shine.

Finally I mattted and layered my card.
Here it is;
A close up, where you can see I added a little shading under the tree.

and one final shot.
I really enjoyed created my moonlit card and hope it will inspire you too. I can't believe we have reached the end of August and September and autumn are just around the corner now.

Introducing the amazing autumn Visible Image stamp release

  Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. Today I could not be more excited as I am able to share my first make with the brand new autumn release! OMGoodness you are going to love them. They are so "me" and there is something for everyone from cute hedgehogs (or hedgepigs as I have always called them!) a squirrel with acorns to positive and inspiring words to toadstools, mini stamps and most exciting a backing stamp for Artist trading cards! Wow. Do check them all out on their website here. Pre release orders are being taken now and the worldwide release date is 27th August. I have been sharing lots of sneak peeks of my makes over on Instagram.

I have made samples with the all the new release and it was a really tough call for me to chose just 1 for today but chose I had to and I went with one of the 3 new Nature sets;

Totally toadstools.

 I have a real "thing" about all things fungi (plus mermaids, strawberries, hedgehogs, pigs, seashells and the Man in the Moon, yes I know I am mad!) and I have wanted Mark, aka Mr Visible Image to design a fungi set for a long time. I was so delighted to see it come to life and it really is everything I love about toadstools. The beautiful nature sentiment, written by Helen (Mrs Visible Image), as always works perfectly.

This is what I got up to;

I wanted to make a really organic, fungi inspired background. There is nothing better for this than Yupo and alcohol inks, so that's what I did. I got out my inks and dripped...

and dropped...
and mixed

and blended until I had achieved the organic fungi inspired background I wanted.
I stamped lots of the toadstools onto different offcuts of inked card and cut them out. Then I chose the ones I wanted to use.

I added some white gel pen and then decoupaged them (which you will see in the finished photos)
I decided I wanted more of a 3D card so I cut out the centre of my Yupo

and backed it with another piece of yellow inked card. I stamped some of the foliage inside. I then added some 3D foam tape and stuck it under the Yupo.
I also cut an upstand from inky card and repeat stamped some more of the foliage, cutting around some and also cutting one piece out to layer up with and to add depth.

I then assembled my focal, adding the toadstools, which I decoupaged.
finally adding the wonderful nature sentiment at the base.
I stuck the focal in place and matted and layered my card.
Here it is;

with a close up
and 1 final shot.

I really do adore this set and I have so many plans for future makes using it too. It really is a must have in your crafting stash and works so well with the new hedgehog and squirrel sets too.  You will find all the new release stamps here.

Monochromatic purple for Country View Challenges

Hello friends. Today I am sharing my 2nd design team make for our current challenge over at Country View Challenges. For this month's challenge we would like to see your monochromatic makes.

As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

People often think that monochromatic means using just black and white but it means using all the tones and hues of a single colour and can also include black and white.

For my first make I went with orange, never my first choice but I really liked it.  I decided to play with something very different again for me, shades of purple. My lovely summer bedding pots again provided my inspiration for today's make.

This is what I got up to;

I worked with the gorgeous dragonfly Visible Image set which is on the website here;

The incredibly versatile fibres stencil

and another sentiment from this lovely set.

I added a little oxide spray to watercolour card.
Then I inked up the stencil with these 3 distress inks.

I stamped, cut out and coloured the large butterfly and 2 of the medium sized.

Next I heat embossed the sentiment.
and stamped some of the element stamps from the dragonfly set.

I also made up 2 of the medium sized dragonflies in the set in the same way. I assembled my card, adding some sequins as a final touch.

Here is my finished card;
a couple of close ups

and one last shot;

I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our August "monochromatic" challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.
You can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with other challenges. There is also a £20 crafting voucher up for grabs to the lucky randomly selected winner to spend over on the Country View Crafts on line store. Once again all the details for the August challenge can be found here.

Susan has recently had a restock the awesome Visible Image stencils and stamps you can see them all here.  Remember that UK postage and packing from CVC is FREE on all orders over £7.50!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take care and stay safe. I will be sharing my 2nd design team project on the and that one for that one I have gone with shades of purple.

I would love to see you over on Instagram where I share new creative makes nearly every day. This is my link/profile @jane.tyrrell
Sadly these days I just don't have the time to blog everything!

Bye for now

Thinking of you

 Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. Wow it's August already! Visible Image have some awesome A7 occasions sentiment verse sets which are only £5.99 each. These sets are so useful as the bold top words are a separate stamp from the verse. You can use just the words, verse or both. I use them lots for the cards I sell at Dotty's Teahouse, they are very popular. These sets cover all occasions from wedding to birthday to sympathy (there are 6 in total)  and today I thought I would pair the Thinking of you set

with one of my all time favourites the Owl from the Dark owl set.

This is what I got up to;

I made a distress oxide background using Squeezed lemonade, Mustard seed and Faded jeans (I know that label looks pink but most of my oxide lids are stained and very well loved!) I blended them onto a piece of white card, added some water and allowed it to drip down before drying.

I cut it down to 5 1/4 X 5 1/4" and then stamped the sentiment in the top left corner using black Versafine which I then clear embossed. These sets are brilliant as the sentiment is separate from the verse. So if you want to you can break it up, as I did, for this card.

I stamped the verse in the opposite corner at the bottom. It really is a delightful and very unique verse.
I then stamped my owl using black versafine and clear embossed him. I fussy cut him out adding a bit of colour using my Zig watercolour pens. I also repeat stamped the uber useful branch from the owl set using green Versafine Clair ink and put my card together.
Here is is;

with a close up
and 1 last shot.
