His and her's hummingbirds

After our record breaking Easter temperatures we are back to more normal late April temperatures.
I spotted these camellia locally
 and the tulips are in my garden pots are glorious.

We are now in the last few days of April and my Monday design team make for Visible Image is a His and Her's version of a design I made using the hummingbird from the lovely Life is beautiful stamp set.
and also the birthday sentiment from Go to words

I made card for my best friend and my Dad's birthdays using an alcohol ink background on Yupo paper.
My BF loves pink so I got out silver and pink AIs and started dripping them onto my Yupo
until I was happy with the mix.
 I stamped the humming bird across the white space

I did the same for my Dad's this time using a different colour palette.

I then added my sentiments, a couple of embellishments, matted them up.
Here they are separately.

I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges;

A glorious Easter birthday

As promised I am back with some photos of Jack's 2nd birthday on Easter Sunday.
 We could not have had more perfect weather, it was like a hot summer's day and we were able to enjoy his birthday lunch outside in the garden.
He adores everything Brio; trains, diggers, boats..anything he can wheel along the track. As he also lives at the seaside I decided to make his cake with this theme in mind. I made a fondant icing Number 2 into a road and created a sea scene complete with lifeguard, buoys for his 2 candles and a whale.
I then added the Brio vehicles;
Here is the whale (which Jack named Tiddler!)
and the coast guard (of course)
Jack really seemed fascinated looking at it...and we all sang him Happy Birthday in the sunshine.
His Mummy and Daisy also made some gorgeous matching cupcakes.

He blew out his candles
and then it was time to get those vehicles moving.

and of course cutting the cake and making a wish with Mummy

My card today is not Jack's card as I forgot to photograph that one but one with a lovely STAMPlorations quote that is so perfect for our darling Jack. It is for sale at Dotty's Teahouse, Carshalton, SM5 2AE
The background is embossed using a wood embossing folder, the dies in my favoruite Tim Hollz world die and I added some stars too.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Pixie's snippets playground #350
Simon says stamp Monday going round in circles
Sweet stampin 2/3 recycle/anything goes
Crafty catz 3/3 anything goes

 What a memorable day we had...so much fun in the sunshine and so incredible to think that 2 years have raced by since my darling Jack was born.
Special family moments.

Easter Monday relaxation

Good morning, it's the last day of the Easter holiday and what a wonderful one it has been. The weather could not have been better and we celebrated little Jack's 2nd birthday yesterday on the hottest day of the year in the hottest part of the UK. I will get my photos sorted out and a post up very soon but here is one from our sunny day.
It is also time for my Monday design team make for Visible Image and for today I thought I would share another project made some time back but never shared before.
It uses the wonderful Mr Caterpillar stamp set.
I made this card for Creative stamping magazine last year and the colour scene was set for us as reds/greens/orange/yellows.
Using the set colours I made an alcohol ink mysterious background for my laid back Mr C to relax in and smoke his pipe.
I dripped the colours into the middle and loved the bubbles they formed.

I coloured up Mr Caterpillar with my Zig watercolours.
and then fussy cut him out adding glossy accents to make lenses for his glasses, plus some glitter and white pen accents.
I stamped, cut out and matted up the sentiment in the set and put my card design together.
Here it is;
With a couple of close ups.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Sweet stampin 1/3 recycle/anything goes
Crafty catz 2/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 2/3 anything goes

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the end of the Easter holiday. The sun is still shining here and it looks like another glorious day is in store.

More watercolour inspiration for the theme and sketch STAMPlorations team

It's time for the Easter holiday and I hope you are all managing to enjoy some family time. The weather here in SE England is looking fabulous. It might reach 24c tomorrow!
The blossom is looking stunning in my local park

and my tulips in my garden pots are colouring up beautifully

We are also halfway through the  month which means that is time for our some more inspiration for our Theme and Sketch April challenge over at STAMPlorations. The theme this month is a real favourite for me.
  I LOVE watercolours and below is the sketch which you could also choose to use, instead or as well as the theme.
The rules in brief are that you need to use stamping on your projects. You don't have to use STAMPlorations stamps to enter but of course we love it if you do! You can link up 6 times with new blog posts and you need to add our logo to your post. You can go with the theme, the sketch or both, the choice is yours. There are some fab prizes to be won too!
This is the link to the challenge with all the info you need.

As always I used the theme and sketch and this is what I got up to.

 I made a bright spring like distress ink background and stamped using the brilliant
Magic, say it big sentiment stamp

I then added some stenciling using Oh my stars!

I then made some strips as per the sketch from a piece of inky mop up card which I added some red stenciling using the
clustered hearts

Here is my finished card

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Let's craft and create 3/3 Anything goes/butterflies

I really think Mother Nature is doing her magic all around me at the moment, the landscape is looking so bright and beautiful. It is also my little grandson Jack's 2nd birthday on Sunday so there will be lots of celebrating for my family this Easter. I have been making his cake and will share all very soon. Here is a tiny sneak peek 😉

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Enjoy a peaceful, wonderful Easter.
