Sending a Visible Image postcard with love

 Hi there, it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image.

I can also announce the news that Mark Alexander aka Mr Visible Image is back on Create and Craft TV this Thursday at 12.45pm UK time. Mark will have some fab new samples to demo and there will be lots of samples on the set from my teamies and myself.

Today I am sharing a postcard. These are fun to make and even swap and measure 6" x 4", the size of a UK standard postcard. The stamps I used are all on the show. I worked with the love sentiment from

Equality, hope and love

and the gorgeous roses and barbed wire stamps from
This is what I got up to;
I used a piece of shaving foam marbled card I made with my granddaughter using distress reinkers and sprays. This is a really old crafting technique (I did it as a child with food colouring) and there are lots of on line instructions and videos. I cut it to 6x4"

I stamped and embossed the love sentiment from  Equality, hope and love and then stamped the barbed wire using archival ink onto the left side. These would be my flower stalks.

and then the right.

I stamped several of the roses from  Forever love  (I only ended up using a few) onto red card using black ink and clear embossed them. I also cut out some of the centres of some more of the large roses to use for decoupaging.

I stamped and embossed the large rose onto the postcard using red embossing glitter

then I adhered the large rose. I decoupaged it with a couple of extra layers of petals. I added a small rose at the top of each barbed wire plant stalks. I finished off with some dewdrops of Glossy accents for extra shine, drippage (is that a word?!?) and dimension.

Here is my finished postcard
with a close up of the decoupaged dewy rose
and a couple more photos.

Celebrating Jack's 4th birthday virtually

Yes it's been a long time since I shared a non design team blog post but today is a special day! My sweet grandson Jack is 4 today and this is sadly the 2nd time that I have not been able to make him a cake and celebrate his birthday with him in person. My little fella is no longer a toddler but a real little boy and I loved seeing him recently even though we could only meet up outside. Here he is with Daisy (who incredibly will be 8 this year) last weekend.
We had such a great meet up outside.

He has grown so much...
Daisy was able to come to stay for a few days last week as we were providing child care for the Easter holidays. Her Mummy asked if I could make a topper for Jack's cake and I decided that Daisy and I could do this and more when she stayed.
We had fun designing a scene with Jack's model dinosaurs and I make a plaque to sit his favourite one on.

He sorted out some of his other "besties" we could use!

We had fun making some ponds and rocks out of fondant icing to display them around the cake.

And made boulder candle holders.

So it's a "partial" Nanna cake this year. Hopefully next year we will all be able to celebrate with a proper party!

I also made him a dinosaur birthday card, of course,  using the fab dinosaur stamps from Stampers Grove. Some are out of stock now but there a few left if you are quick! The stenciled background is The forest by Visible Image as it the cool birthday sentiment in their lost for words sentiment set.

and one last shot

I would like to enter my card into these challenges;

Simon says stamp Monday Cheerful colours
Through the craftroom door anything goes
Crafty sentiments anything goes
Lil patch of crafting friends anything goes

and I'm waving to my friends over at
Pixie's snippets playground #401

Life is fine my end and I am loving the sunshine and my garden too...I can almost hear it growing at the moment!
I have lots of photos over on Instagram if you would like to have a look. Here is the link to my account; Jane Tyrrrell. I tend to post much more over there these days as blog posts take so long to write and I have a lot of designing commitments (which I really love!)  I think it is the way life is going. I resisted for a long time but I now see it is so much quicker to share. If you pop on over do say hello.

Thanks so much for stopping by, enjoy the sunshine and keep safe.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Missing you with Visible Image

Hi there, it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Today I am showcasing some old with the new again. I used the awesome new "I miss your face" sentiment from

 Lost for words

with the incredibly versatile new
plus their gorgeous "rose" from the

and their beautiful ink swirls stencil

I decided to make a tag. Here's what I got up to;

I smashed some some squeezed lemonade and fossilized amber distress inks onto my mixed media mat, added some water and created a watercolour background to my tag.

Next I blended speckled egg distress ink through the ink swirls stencil
Then I stamped using all 3 stamps from the Grunge tones  set using salty ocean ink and first and 2nd generation stamping to give a subtle background
I also stamped and embossed the sentiment  from Lost for words and the numbers stamps from Random art of kindness set and carried on building up the layers.
I added some alcohol ink pearls to heat resistant acetate. I have shared this technique many times before and also demoed it at many a stamp show in 2019. I stamped and clear embossed the roses and cut them out.
I stamped the roses again on the tag and then layered everything up
using glossy accents as my adhesive.
Here is my finished tag which I mounted onto black

a couple of close ups

and one final shot.
