Bunny burrow

Hello all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Their new February release has really taken the crafting world by storm. Today, as promised, I wanted to share the step by step of my Bunny Burrow card, one I made as my design team sample for the brilliant Happy Bunny stamp set. This sets is has a gorgeous detailed large bunny stamp with some cute smaller silhouette ones and some fun sentiments including a very useful "Happy Easter"

I had the idea of making the bunny emerge from his burrow using awesome and super popular Supernova stencil to make this.

This is what I got up to;

I used a piece of distress ink shaving foam marbled card from my stash. I put the stencil in place and using vintage photo distress ink blended it through the stencil. I then cut this down to 5 1/2" square.

I cut out some of the centre and distressed the edges with a distressing tool (or use your scissors) I stamped the 3 small bunnies round the edges and 2 at the bottom in Versafine clair Acorn which I clear embossed for extra texture and shine.

I stamped the bunny head twice; once onto kraft card (5 3/4" square) and once onto a scrap of white.
 The white image I coloured with distress pencils and cut out minus the whiskers. Don't worry no bunnies were injured during this procedure 😂. I then glued it over the image on the kraft card (which replaced the whiskers)

I popped  him into his burrow and glued him in place.

I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment onto an offcut of card and glued it in place. For a little finishing touch I stamped the hearts from the set around the stencilled burrow and added some flower soft to resemble soil. I adhered the card front onto the kraft card, matted it onto green card and then a white square card blank

Here is my finished card.

That lovin' feline from the new Visible Image release

Hello I'm back with my second post today as it's also time for my fortnightly Wednesday blogged design team make for Visible Image. I'm delighted to be sharing my first make using stamps from the new Visible Image release using the fantastic "That Lovin' feline"cat stamp set. Not only are the cat images wonderful but the sentiments are hilarious... and don't miss the little bird, paw print, hearts and mouse stamps too. Just take a look at all the stamps and sentiments you get in the set;

I teamed them with the awesome Heart Ink stencil. (This stencil also come with the heart mask)

Unless you have been loving under a rock you will know that there are 6 fab new stamp sets and 6 new stencils in their February release. They have taken the crafting world by storm and are being released on 10th February. Pre orders are open on the website now and they are selling really fast so if you want to guarantee to get your hands on these when they are first released don't delay pre ordering here.

This is what I got up to with these hilarious cats....I had to keep an eye on them as they were playing aorund with my own Billy cat!

First I made my background using these pink shades of distress ink stain spays;

I then blended worn lipstick distress ink through the  Heart Ink stencil.
and cut my card front down to a 5 1/2" square. I stamped the 2 tall cats from  "That Lovin' feline" onto the heart as shown below and also onto white card

I coloured the pair stamped on white card using my Zig watercolour pens. I used pink and gold glitter pens for their eyes and noses and then cut the images out. I used my own sweet Billy Cat as my inspiration. Any cats I colour need to have pink noses and a white tip of the tail..just like my sweet boy.
After I took this photo I also cut off their whiskers (don't worry it didn't hurt) as they will reappear once stuck onto the 2 outline cats on the heart.
I repeat stamped the paw prints and mouse around the edge of the heart.
I then adhered the cats in place (you can see that their whiskers reappeared).  I used the little heart stamp too, see below. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white card and distressed the edges with worn lipstick distress ink.
I also added some silver pen details to the mice and the hearts. Finally I matted my card onto black and then onto a white square card blank.

Here is my finished card

and one final shot;

As you probably know I adore cats...My sweet Billy has always been the avatar of my blog, Jane's Journal. I can't stop colouring up these fab cat images and have so many ideas using them. This is one which was shared last week and you can see it over in my Instagram account here.

that sentiment.....😂

Be sentimental with Country View challenges

Good morning and welcome to our February challenge over at Country View Crafts. I am delighted to be the host for this month and I have chosen the theme "Be sentimental". So I would like to see your crafty makes which include a sentiment and/or some inspiring words.  You can enter a maximum of 5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges, including ours. Many of the Visible Image sets that Susan stocks have lots of inspiring words and sentiments and today I used 2 sets;
with some words from So much stronger
and the Broken mesh layering die

This is what I got up to;
I blended  mustard seed, crackling campfire and spiced marmalade distress oxides onto a piece of white card and added some drips of water which I blotted off. I also had a piece of inky card in my stash from which I die cut an aperture using the broken mesh die.

I stamped the hummingbird in the aperture
I then stamped a 2nd bird onto white card and cut out the top wing to use for decoupaging.
I coloured the images with colours from the set 3 distress watercolour pencils
I stamped around the edge of the mesh top card using the background stamp in the Life is beautiful set. I also gold embossed the words onto black card and cut them out.
I then stuck the decoupaged wing  and the sentiments in place. I also stamped some of the words from the So much stronger set across the bottom of the card.
I matted and layered my card and adhered it to a 7X5" white card blank. I added some sequins and white gel pen details as finishing touches.

Here is my finished card;
