Clean and simple card making for Visible Image

Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. For this make I wanted to use one of their oldie but real goodie stamp sets called Beautiful soul

teamed with a sentiment from the Look forward with hope set

I thought I would finally blog a technique I have used for many of my clean and simple (CAS) Dotty's Tearooms cards for many years and I have also demonstrated at shows. Again another oldie but goodie technique which is to use an acrylic stamping block to monoprint with distress inks. Simply swipe a few colours onto the block, add a light spritz of water and then print and dry.

For this card I used 2 distress ink colours; vintage photo and stormy sky. I cut a piece of white 5 1/4" smooth square card and monoprinted using the block into the top half.

Once dry I stamped the Beautiful soul  image in Nocturne Versafine Clair and clear embossed and did the same with the sentiment from  So much stronger below.

I added silver sequins to her hair
and then matted onto black card and a white 5 3/4" square card blank.
Here is my finished card
with a close up
and one final shot.

More "Time" inspiration for Country View Challenges

 Hello I am back with my 2nd design team make for Country View Challenges.  The theme for this month is of course "Time" so let's see all your time related makes...clocks, words etc You can enter a maximum of 5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges, including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies  here.

 Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00 I have added some live links within my post to take you to some of the products I used.

This is what I got up to. As we are fast approaching Valentine's Day I decided to make a love time themed card. I have a very treasured and long discontinued  weathered clock Tim Holtz die which I used for my first project. If you missed it you can find it here. I decided to use another from my stash called Time Keeper with a Visible Image stamp set which has the perfect sentiments and heart for love themed projects called Have I told you.  Susan hasn't got "Have I told you" set in stock at the moment but you can order it from her if you just send an email. I also used the sentiment with the awesome time swirl stamp from their Ahead of our time stamp set .

I used my lumberjack plaid and iced spruce distress sprays to create my background.

I also had a piece of inky mop up card to which I added some gold mica stain spray to give it some sparkle and used this to die cut the clock face.

I stamped the Visible Image sentiment in the centre using the die cut for placing.
I stamped the time swirl from their Ahead of our time stamp set and added the hearts which are also in the "Have I told you" sentiment set.
I die cut the clock hands in black and attached them with a white heart brad for a little extra detail. I then matted it onto black card and adhered to a square white card blank.

A new Visible Image year

 I'm delighted to be back sharing my regular fortnightly design team posts for Visible Image. I hope you all enjoyed the festive period and are now looking forward to a creative year ahead. Today's make uses one of their awesome sentiments from the So much stronger  sentiment set

 teamed with the gorgeous Into the woods set

This is what I got up to; I first added a little antique linen, vintage photo and chipped sapphire distress ink to a craft sheet with a little water and dipped a piece of A5 size mixed media card into it. When dry I cut this down to 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 " and then blended wild honey distress ink through the stencil using an ink blending tool.

I stamped the more solid of the 2 trees lines from Into the woods using Twilight Versafine clair across the bottom of the card.

I stamped some branches using the tree in the set and then the sentiment from So much stronger was stamped in black and clear embossed for extra texture.
I then over stamped the slimmer tree line from  Into the woods in black at the bottom of the card.

I matted it onto gold and then black card. As a finishing touch I added 5 star gem embellishments from my stash and a little white gel pen detailing.
Here is my finished make;

Good morning, happy new year and welcome to 2023. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and your head is not too heavy this morning if you were up late last night seeing in the new year! It is time to start a brand new crafting year with our first challenge of 2023 over at Country View Crafts. The theme for this month is "Time" so we would like to see your projects featuring clocks, watches and anything time related.  You can enter a maximum of 5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges, including ours.

I wanted to use my treasured old Tim Holtz Bigz clock dies so I have used one for this make and the other for my 2nd DT make which I will share here on 15th Jan.

This is what I got up to;
I used a piece of inky mop up card to die cut the weathered clock die.

Using shabby shutters, iced spruce and pine needles distress spray stains I created this drippy inky background.
The new year sentiment is from the A7 size Visible Image Classic Christmas stamp set

I then added sparkle using the Visible Image Sparkle stamps and Wow embossing powder
I cut the clock hands in black card and stuck the clock face in place adding a sparkly brad to the centre.
I absolutely LOVE my mischievous cats and knew they had to see the new year in too so I added faces to 3 of them.

I let them climb aboard 😂

Here is my finished make;
