Spring tins for Visible Image

Hello, it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. The new release had its worldwide launch on Friday and we celebrated with a fun online Live Launch party, which you can still watch on catch up via the website.

Today I am going to share some tins I upcycled using the gorgeous

Spring awakening stamp set

and some extra background stamping using the very cool

 I used them to make 3 tin labels in different colour ways. I use lots of tins on my desk and these are super easy to make and also so useful to store pens, brushes etc in.  Just use any empty tins, mine are tinned tomatoes tins.

This is how I made them;

I measured the height and circumference of my tins and cut my smooth heavyweight card to size.
I used these 3 distress stain sprays and gave each piece a very light spray of ink. I allowed them to dry thoroughly (or you could heat dry them)

I made each label in a very similar way so I will just share the process for one, the yellow/orange combo.
First I stamped the gridded sentiment from the Spring awakening stamp set randomly in fossilized amber distress archival ink.
I then added some more background stamping using all the fun Transmission glitch set stamps and hickory smoke distress archival ink.

I continued adding more random stamping using all the stamps in both sets and some pink, yellow and orange ink.  When I was happy I then stamped and clear embossed the large flower in the set using Versafine Clair ink in the centre and again on each side, you can see this further down.

Here is the finished label.

and the other 2

I then stuck the labels to their tins. Personally I find the best adhesive for this is red line tape.

Here they are, already filled up with my bits and bobs.

A photo of each one individually;

and one final shot;

These will go with my existing tins and make such a colourful addition to my craft desk.
Here are some of my previous makes.

 I hope I might have inspired you to make your own?

More hearts and flowers for Country View challenges

 Hello I am here with my 2nd design team inspiration make for our February challenge over at County View Challenges. I am delighted to be your host this month and I have chosen "Hearts and flowers" for the theme. This means that you need to have both hearts and flowers on your make. You can make anything you like using any products. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here

I have added clickable links within this post to the CVC website. If anything is out of stock just add your name in the email notification and Susan will email you when she has them back in stock.

For my 2nd design team make I am using products from the brand new Visible Image spring release. As I am on their design team too I am able to get my hands on these fab products before their release! For my first CVC make using them I have used all 3 of the really awesome new layering dies. These will all be available on the Country View Website for their release on 11th February. Just add your name to the email alert box and you be contacted by Susan once they can be pre ordered. These dies are incredibly popular so don't miss out being the first to get your hands on them. Remember that all orders over £20.00 are posted FREE within the UK.

Broken mesh

and the really beautiful new stamp set
These tulips stamps are glorious and have a "creative chaos" flower feel to them, so uniquely Visible Image. This set is even worth buying just for the script stamp...it's fab!

Plus the thank you sentiment from the uber useful existing VI set

Lost for words

This is what I got up to;

I die cut a piece of black card using the Broken mesh die

I really like using the apertures left behind for my cards.
So the black mesh will be used for another project, nothing is ever wasted with these dies.

Using the  Framed fibres I cut a frame in green

and stuck this under the aperture.
I randomly stamped the script onto white card using Barn door

and placed this under the frame.
I stamped, coloured and cut out one large and 2 small tulips.
I used the thank you sentiment from the Visible Image "lost for words set".
and glued the tulips in place.

I die cut some inky mop up card using the
Torn Fishnet die and die cut some hearts which I used to layer up on top of white die cut hearts. These gorgeous dies are not called layering dies for nothing!
I added a little mowed lawn distress ink.

and then put my card together adding sequins for a final touch.
Here it is
with a close up
and one final shot.
I think you might guess by now that these dies and stamps are very loved by me and will get so much use.

 I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our February "Hearts and flowers "challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.
 Once again all the details for the challenge are here.  Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00

Once again here you can find all the details here.

I would love to see you over on Instagram where I share new creative makes nearly every day. This is my link/profile @jane.tyrrell
Sadly these days I just don't have the time to blog everything!

A creative chaos canvas

 Hello, it's time for my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image.

The new Spring release is going down a storm and today I am able to share my first blogged make. I have shared several other on Instagram over the last 10 days so do check me out over there if you would like to see them. You can find me here; https://www.instagram.com/jane.tyrrell/

Pre release orders open now on the website. Worldwide release date not far away now, this Friday, 11th February. For today's make I wanted to share a canvas I made using the really awesome new layering dies. These are something very different for Visible Image but I am in love with them. They are so versatile and I find myself using them all the time. They add extra dimension to everything paper crafting from ATCs to canvases and everything in between.

I love that they also leave fab apertures that can be used as a frame or filled in with a different colour . To show this let's get down to my make.

I used 2 of the new layering dies;

Broken mesh

I also used the flowers from my favourite flower stamp set Creative Chaos
This is what I got up to.
I used some inky left over cardstock to stamp them on and cut them out.
 The 2 top flowers also had some extra stamping on it using stamps in the Grunge tones background stamp set.
I also stamped the small flowers onto inky leftover card and cut those out too,
The background for my canvas was made using rustic wilderness and spiced marmalade distress inks, pressed onto my craft sheet with added water and dipped in. I dried with a heat gun between layers. I then added some splashes of distress mica stains; Bubbling cauldron, Flickering candle and Holly branch
Using the mesh die I cut out the middle of the card background. I also used the Fibres die to cut from black cardstock.

The cut out from the mesh will be used for another project.
I die cut another piece of lighter green inky card, using the mesh die and replaced it in the aperture as seen below. I cut some of the black fibres frame into pieces and glued it randomly around the outside of my background

I left gaps as it added to the organic feel I was trying to achieve.
Then I used some of the remnants to cut some "flower stems".

I added the flowers 1 by 1
and placed a piece of white card behind the mesh stamped with some of the background stamps.
I stamped the words and cut them up to fix to my canvas.

Here it is finished and "framed" using white and black card.
A few close ups

and one last shot.
The new layering dies are so awesome. Do check them out with the rest of the new release
