Is it too early for wine?

 Good morning everyone it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. Today I am delighted to share my first blogged make with one of the sets from the awesome brand new stamp release. There are 6 new stamp sets, which can be preordered now, for the worldwide release this Friday, 29th October. I have been sharing lots of my samples over on Instagram and they also appeared on the recent live which you can catch up on over at the Visible Image You Tube channel. All these details are at the end of this post.

 I had a hard time choosing which of my makes to blog but I went with the pair of tags I made using the brilliant

 99% chance of wine set

The stamps in this set are so unique and includes 2 awesome wine splashes.

This is what I got up to;

I used one of my shaving foam marbled distress re inker backgrounds and die cut 2 tags. I love the swirling effect you can achieve. These colours are kitsch flamingo, salvaged patina and festive berries.

I stamped the sentiments at the top in black onyx Versafine and some of the wine splashes around the edges using charming pink Versafine Clair ink.

I stamped the glass and the wine "swoosh" and heat dried them. I then painted over just the glass with embossing ink and sprinkled with clear embossing powder.

I heat embossed it and while hot added more powder and repeated this twice more. It gives a gorgeous shine without the need for drying time when using glossy accents.

I matted them up on black card and added some string. Here they are;

and a couple of shots of them together

Just adding a handmade tag to a bottle of wine would make such a great gift.
This really is such a versatile set of stamps and I have so many other ideas of how I want to use it.

A witchy take on the October Country View challenge

Hi I am back with my 2nd design team inspiration post for Country View Challenges.  The theme for the month is "autumn colours +/- Halloween. A nice easy one. For my first make I went with autumn colours so for this make I decided to get my Halloween spook on and go for Halloween.  As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

I decided to make a Halloween card and first I used my Halloween distress mica stains set on my Tim die cut numbers. I also die cut "shadows" in black.

I used twisted citron, wilted violet and pumice stone distress stain sprays to make a background.

I stamped the fab Visible image witch and used the matching die to cut her out and also die cut her shadow in black. I coloured her with pencils.

Susan has the brilliant witch stamp set for sale here

and her matching die here

I added some Tim Holtz spider's web die cuts

and some of his bats plus other die cuts to create my Halloween scene.

Here is my finished card;
with a close up

and one final shot.

Thinking of you

Good morning everyone it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. After 2 weeks of Christmas stamps and stencils inspiration the design team are getting back to sharing some non Christmas makes. This is while we await the delivery of the new stamps and start making our samples. Yes there are 6 new stamp sets coming out later this month and they are AWESOME.

I decided to work with these 2 lovely sets and make a slimline card;

Flower art

and Thinking of you which has such a delightful verse written by Helen.

This is what I got up to.
I sprayed frayed burlap and mermaid lagoon distress oxide sprays onto watercolour card, spritzed some water and dried with my heat gun. Once dry I cut a slimline panel. I then stamped the sentiment as shown. I masked off the verse so that I could stamp it in 2 halves on my background. I then stamped the rose flower from the Flower art set with a green inked stalk/leaves and black over the flower head. As long as the stalk and leaves are green you don't need to be too precise with the colour on the flower as this is being decoupaged.
Top of card;
bottom of card;
I added some extra green to the leaves using a zig watercolour pen.
Next I stamped and embossed just the rose flower heads onto inky mop up card and cut them out.
I glued the rose blooms in place, matted up the card and adhered it to a slimline card blank (I just cut my own).
Here it is finished

with a couple of close ups

and one final shot.

This is what I got up to; I sprayed picked raspberry , fossilized amber and carved pumpkin distress stains onto watercolour card.

I coloured them with distress inks and added a little sparkle
