Visible Image Halloween inspiration

Good morning. Another fortnight has flown by and it's time for my next design team inspiration make for Visible Image.  The September release went live on Friday and is available to buy here on the website or from you favourite stockists worldwide.

 As we are approaching the "Spooky month" I am sharing a Halloween inspired make using the very suave Forever Edward stamp set. He has some awesome accessory stamps in the set too.

I also used the coordinating dies which make layering up a dream and no need for fussy cutting if that's not your thing.

I absolutely love the fun bats in this sets and have die cut so many!

This is what I got up to;

I used one of my alcohol ink on Yupo backgrounds from my stash made using Ranger alcohol inks. I added some background stamping using the text and flight of bats stamps and Archival ink.

 I stamped and die cut Edward, the moon and 7 bats. I coloured the images using distress pencils.

I  stamped some of the small bats on the moon and then started to stick everything in place.

I stamped the main sentiment onto a die cut oval. My idea was the the bats were flying Edward from the moon through the starry night sky to Isabella! Yes my mind works in those ways.

Finally I matted this onto black card and adhered it to a 5" X 7" white card blank,

Here is my finished card

with a close up

and 1 final shot;

Pumpkin time

 Good morning all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. If you have been following the news on social media you will know that there is a new Visible Image release.

There are 3 fab new stamp sets all with coordinating dies, a fun knitted background stamp and 5 awesome new stencils.

For today's make I chose to share my new release sample made using the Happy Halloween
pumpkin set. I have wanted a VI pumpkin set for so long and I was delighted to see this added to the range.
The coordinating dies make it so easy to layer up little scenes but if you are a fussy cutter they are also  straightforward to cut out.

I made 2 tags also using  the new Leafy stencil
This is what I got up to; I took 2 tags and blended Villainous potion and Lucky clover distress inks in stripes using a distress blending tool.

When finished I spritzed with water for some extra detail.

I added black distress texture paste through the leafy stencil, just using parts of the stencil.

Once dry I flicked on some distress mica stains.

I stamped and die cut 1 large and 4 small pumpkins and coloured them with distress pencils.

I also stamped the sentiments onto white card and cut them out. I then assembled my tags.

Here is the pair
and here they are individually.

and one final shot;
Until I had my grandkids, now aged 9,6 and 18 months I had no interest in Halloween but I now embrace every minute of the spooky season. It's such fun putting on my devil's ears and answering my door on 31st October to the trick or treaters. I decorate my porch and carve a pumpkin too! I am so pleased to see these fab Visible Image Halloween stamps and fingers crossed that they might bring out more in the future.

Alien invasion

Good morning all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image.

If you have been following the news on social media you will know that there are now co ordinating dies for the 3 fab space character sets as well as 3 of their most popular Christmas sets (squeal.. yes that includes the Christmas robins set).

Today I'm delighted to share my first make using one of the space character sets. If you're not familiar with the brilliant VI space characters they are; Captain Awesome, Robot Data and Alien invader. Today I am sharing my sample made using the Alien Invader stamp set

There is currently a fab offer of 20% off and this also applies if you buy them as a bundle if you don't already own the stamps. Just use the code DIES20 at the checkout.

I used it with the fab stencil
Meshing around  and turned it into a planet, as you do!

This is what I got up to;
I made a circle easel card using red card. Mine was made using a 5 1/2" diameter circle die. (There are many videos and simple tutorials on line which show how these are made so I am not sharing that part of the process).
I sprayed aged mahogany and salty ocean distress stain sprays onto a piece of inky mop up mixed media card from my stash. When dry I added some Snowflurries distress mica stain for some sparkle. I then spread the new distress Glow grit paste through the Meshing around stencil.
and left it to dry.
I sneaked out to my studio that evening I took this photo of it glowing in the dark!
I stamped the alien stamps in the set and coloured them with distress pencils.
I die cut the Mesh background using a circle die to create my "planet" and adhered the stamped elements. I also added some gold foundry wax to the edge of my "planet"
I sprayed a little more mica stain onto the base of the easel
folded down the top and then stuck the "planet in place.
I raised the sentiment onto foam tape so that the front of the easel could stand behind it.
Here it is finished
with a couple of close ups

one final staged shot
and of course I had to end with some glow in the dark shots.

Such fun!
