We had such a view of the bay.
Not a bad view to have whilst eating breakfast is it?
We also witnessed the most glorious sunsets from our balcony...
and even a wedding.....
We would always walk down to the beach everyday even if we had been out exploring the island during the day.
The fisherman still take their boats out every morning.
It was always so relaxing to walk along the beach with the sound of the waves lapping ashore gently. There is a beach restaurant next door to where we stay so when we had come back from a day exploring we could shower and stroll around to enjoy this.....
I never get bored of taking the shot above; this is the 2012 Jane's Journal version. Even looking at it now it just makes me smile and think of sunshine and relaxation and lots of good food and laughter....
and time to watch the sunset with my dear Hb
Bliss, just bliss.
I am back to work tomorrow and today I am having the mammoth "washing and getting sorted out day" post holiday. It's also wonderful to have darling Billy home again, he has loved popping out into the garden. He is so well taken of by my parents but I am sure he misses his garden. The sun is even shining today but I must admit the temperature is decided autumnal.
People talk of having post holiday blues but honestly what I do is just close my eyes and think back to those precious days. I would say I have a post holiday glow and I just think how very very lucky I am to have those views etched in my memory.
I do plan a couple more holiday posts over the next week or so. If you enjoyed these photos do come back to read more about our adventures. I would also like to thank everyone for the wonderful comments you left me on my last post. I really enjoyed my first guest design card I made and I was so pleased that all seemed to like it.
Today's challenge card just has to be beach related so I am showing the last in the trio of Mermaid cards I made in the summer featuring the sweet "Goldie" stamp by the talented Sylvia Zet.
I coloured her with my Promarkers and highlighted her with my Prismacolor pencils. The nautical backing papers are from Nitwits. I added some glossy accents to the bubbles to make them look realistic and some glitter glue to the flowers in her hair. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley as are the 2 fun tags. One of my bag charm mermaids found it's way on here too.
She is for sale in my Etsy shop here
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
Joanna Sheen so sweet
A and T Emerald Faeries challenge #32 use a tag
Dream Valley #41 celebrations
Forever Friends colour challenge #45
Make it Monday weekly linky party #107
Paper Crafting Journey my sentiment exactly

No we didn't manage to see a real mermaid whilst we were away. Now wouldn't that make a fab blog post - I can see the title now, Swimming with the Mermaids..LOL!!

ReplyDeleteVictoria xx
Jane so nice to see you back! Oh your photos are so Grand! I loved all of them. What a view you had, now if that's not paradise I don't know what is!! I think it is so nice when you find a vacation place that speaks to both of you and where you can really relax and enjoy each other, is so very special. My Hb and I have felt that way about St. Martin.
ReplyDeleteWeddings seem to be following you, what a magical theme!
Welcome home, xoRobin❤
Thanks Victoria, we have visited many of the Greek Islands. They are all fab but Rhodes holds a special place in our hearts. Put the Greek islands on your list of places to visit one day ;0)
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hi dear Robin, good to see you here. I am gradually getting around to see everyone now I am back. You know what I mean about a special place don't you. Weddings do seem to follow us, it was such fun to watch from our balcony.
ReplyDeleteJane x
Welcome, dear Jane!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see that you've enjoyed your sunny days, seems that your holiday was no less than perfect? And now you have all that energy for this autumn, and the C-things too, I have already started, can you believe it??
Have a great day at work tomorrow (I'm sure everyone will envy your tan!) and kiss Billy for me again!
Yours,
Mia

HUgs Laurie xx
Hi dear Mia, I am perfectly rested now and raring to go for the seasons ahead of us ;0)It is great to have a 1 day week at work tomorrow..hurrah! Billy sends a purr, he is so pleased to be home.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend my friend,
Jane x
Hi Laurie, it was so gorgeously warm out there, never any lower than 20c at night and up to 34 during the day. I have had to turn my heating on here now..brrr! Thanks for liking my card,
ReplyDeleteJane x
Welcome home, Jane! Oh thank you for sharing your holiday with us.. that photo of the sunset and the lantern was just AWESOME! I also love your card, so cute, you know I love sea things. Say, do you have a sea bead like on your Etsy store, just the bead, that you would sell to me? The glass makers that you got those from aren't making any and I'd love to buy one from you. I would use my gold wire to make a necklace. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos Jane! I love Greece and my favourite place has to be Santorini. We went to Rhodes two years ago and it was beautiful. Where did you stay - it looks gorgeos?
ReplyDeleteLove your card too!
xx
Hi Teresa, I will go through my stash at some point but as you know all the beads I buy are one of a kind and I cannot get any more of these. I don't tend to sell just the beads as it rather defeats my selling my jewellery and these very special beach beads are so popular. I have an open house here in October where I need lots of stock, I will see if I have anything left over. Have a good weekend, nearly there,
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hi Katina, we stay in Pefkos near Lindos. I agree that Santorini is also stunning, we stayed there a few years back. Thanks for visiting me here,
ReplyDeleteJane x
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Welcome back to reality with spectacular memories :)
