Christmas Bokeh inspiration

Good morning I am here with a 2nd dose of inspiration for our current October Bokeh challenge over at  Country View Challenges. I explain the concept of bokeh in my first DT post and if you missed that do check it out here.

As we are getting nearer to Christmas and I am sure most of you are gearing up to making your Christmas cards my card today is a Christmas one. I am certainly seeing signs of the colder weather all around me including the ripening of the holly.
I used a photo editor to add a bokeh effect to this photo
Fun isn't it!

My first project was full of colour and this time I went for more festive colours; black, white and gold.
This is what I got up to. I used the distress ink to make my background.

I die cut my leaping deer and stamped them using white pigment and the tiny heart from the Visible Image sentimental Christmas stamp set
I also used the Merry Christmas sentiment from this set on the card.
I used my same hand made circle die cut stencil as show in my first post  here to add the pigment ink.
Here is my finished card.
And a close up.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Winter wonderland 1/3 merry and bright
ABC Christmas 1/3 U for upcycle and V for velocity mine is V for velocity, my deer are leaping into the snowy sky!
Pixie's snippets playground #363
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge #460
Sweet stampin Christmas 1/3 anything goes opt stars
Double D 1/3 silhouettes
Cute card Thursday 1/3 spots/dots

I really enjoy using the bokeh technique and I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.
You can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with other challenges. There is also a £20 crafting voucher up for grabs to the lucky randomly selected winner to spend over on the Country View Crafts on line store. Remember that UK postage and packing is absolutely FREE! All the details for the October challenge can be found here.

Thanks for stopping by, back soon,

Beautiful rain

It has been very wet over the last week but it has still been so beautiful to see autumnal colour in my garden. My potted acer leaves are turning every shade of golden. They were dripping with water but still so gorgeous.

This one is under the cover of the magnolia
 After quite a dry period my little garden is loving it.
It inspired my next Halloween tag...with lots of leaves ....
BOO!

The stamps are all by Visible Image and the leaves are Memory Box

 I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges;

Funkie Junkie boutique blog Halloween
Happy little stampers anything goes with dies
The house that stamps built inspiration palette
The male room 1/3 Halloween
Simon says Wednesday  Halloween

The sun did peep out late yesterday afternoon so I had the best of both world's in one day.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

A mid month reminder for STAMPlorations theme and photo prompt October challenge

We are half way through October and our Theme and Photo prompt challenge over at Stamplorations so I am back today with some more inspiration to hopefully inspire you to join in with the fun.

 You don't have to use STAMPlorations stamps to enter but of course we love it if you do! You can link up to 6 times with new blog posts and you need to include the challenge graphic in your post. You can go with the theme, the sketch or both, the choice is yours. There are some fab prizes to be won too!
This is the link to the challenge with all the info you need.

For my 2nd card I used the Senecio 1 stencil
I chose the colours yellow, pink and green from the photo prompt.

This is what  I got up to; I used the stencil to add some yellow across my card background.

I also added some stamping using some of the fun border stamps from It's a girl thing; sunshine
I then made a cupcake similar to my first card using the awesome  Cupcake builder #2
  and stamped one of the sentiments from the  party time set

Here is my finsihed card
with a close up of that cup cake!
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
