Some time ago I won my first digital images and I showed in this post how I had made my very first cards with them. Since then I have been a very lucky girl and have had no less than 5 more wins from my card challenge entries. Amongst them are some from my Blog Buddy Kerry who owns Ladybird Craft Inks. I decided to have a play with her "Gardener's Delight" digi images which I really love. I re sized my favourite called "Watering Can" and printed out 3 images on a sheet of A4 card and then had fun colouring 3 different colour ways using my Promarkers and my Prismacolor pencils. Here are the finished coloured images.
Below is the sheet of digi stamps and how they looked before I took my Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils to them. Colouring really brings them to life doesn't it? I get so absorbed colouring...it's very relaxing indeed.
I thought red, blue and yellow were good colour ways to use for this time of year. I then decided to make them up as cards and the first one I used was the blue colour way.
I used some very pretty blue daisy paper from my stash and decided to keep the card very simple.
All I added was a central dotty plaque, a lovely blue satin-edged organza ribbon and one of my favourite LOTV round sentiments.
I put this card into my Etsy shop and it sold within a couple of days. Since then I have made up the yellow and red versions but I sold those too. They have been very popular and I must find the time to colour some more. I also think they will make great Father's Day Cards.
I am having fun with these digi images and they are a lot cheaper for me to buy than real rubber stamps and much easier to store. Mind you to me there is nothing quite like a "real" stash of stamps to drool over, I can't see me ever stopping buying the real ones ;0)
I would like to enter my card into the following card challenges.

On the subject of Gardener's Delight my much loved tiny garden has had a much needed soaking of rain. In fact today has been torrential. We certainly don't need to use a watering can at the moment. Between the showers we are still getting some lovely sunshine too. Luckily I took these photos yesterday. My Viburnum is fully in flower with it's glorious scented sweetness.
Every time I walk down to my Studio the scent of these flowers wafts up...mmmmmm...
My daffs have nearly finished flowering but they have been succeeded by my wonderful tulips. On the right is the bud of one of my tulips which over the course of a few days developed into the flower below.
How striking a colour is this!
And here is another colour of my Parrot Tulips. All these just came from a few packets of bulbs I planted into my pots last autumn.
The days have been a little chillier here than in March but the much welcomed April showers have certainly been working their magic in my garden.
I hope your gardens are beginning to explode into colour and if they are not quite yet do enjoy my photos ;0)
One other person who of course is enjoying the garden is....
...Our Billy. He loves to keep an eye on all that is going on in the garden. He is never far away when I am out there and also loves to find a sunny nest to sleep in on the warmer days. Today though he is sleeping indoors on his favourite green chair. He does not like rain at all. Thank you for all your lovely comments about my son's gorgeous new puppy Bear in my last post. Bear is settling in well and is having his first set of injections this weekend. It will not be long until he will be able to go out for walks. My Hb has taken his last week of annual leave this week and has been up doing a few puppy duties. I shall post some new photos soon.
Back soon and for those of you in the UK...Keep Dry and Carry on Crafting ;0)
Bye for now,
Jane x
Some beautiful tuplis Jane, but your Viburnum is well ahead of ours, we have one variety in flowers but most are lagging behind, not surprising as we are still going down to 0 and lower some nights.
ReplyDeleteThese images are quite generic and beautifully coloured.
B x
Gosh you must be further North than us Brenda. We have not been down to 0 for some time now thank goodness. Thanks for your kind comments.
DeleteKeep dry!
Jane x
Your colouring really is fantastic Jane...I love the blue, red and yellow. The finished card is gorgeous and I can see why they were all snapped up! Tulips are my favourite flower and I love when they arrive in the supermarkets at the beginning of the year (I have a black thumb lol). Lily's on the other hand are my least favourite...they give me a headache and I certainly wouldn't thank you for them hmph!! Thanks for joining our Birthday Challenge at LCI this fortnight. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like YOUR stamps Kerry. They are delightful to colour, I must try my other ones soon. I so agree with Lily's their pollen is dreadful but I do love Cala Lilies which I'm not sure really are a lily despite their name.
DeleteJane x
What a beautiful card and your colouring is great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at I ♥ Promarkers this week.
Berit:)
Thanks Berit, I have just bought even more of my favourite Promarkers...well you can never have too many can you ;0)

It is like November here today Jane, I'm just back from the hairdressers and I may as well not have bothered!!! It's wild, windy and wet and cold!!!
ReplyDeleteI do love that little watering can image Jane, it's so pretty and it's no surprise the cards are snapped up!
It really is worthwhile entering these card challenges isn't it, well it is if your name is Jane anyway! ;)
I love your tulips, not many of mine appeared this year, I think I need to put some more new bulbs in later in the year.
Billy would not be very happy here today, that's for sure!
Enjoy the rest of the week,
Vivienne x
Tee hee Vivienne, I have had some great luck with the challenges haven't I. We are still having little bursts of sunshine but the rain in between is horrendous...so heavy. I think Billy has the right idea ;0)
DeleteKeep dry and carry on crafting...the garden will have to wait. Enjoy the rest of the week too,
Jane x
Lovely card and beautiful garden! Saw this on Make it Monday
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Kath,
DeleteJane x
Delightful cards, Jane! And the garden looks so beautiful; are you sure it's viburnum, it reminded me of Daphne, I love them! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Nelli now it's funny you should say that I did think it was a Daphne but when I went to a very respected garden centre recently and saw it and it was labelled as a viburnum variety. I wonder if anyone else can shed some Light?
DeleteJane x
You really have brought these to life. I think I would have never got around to it. Truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteThat's very kind,

Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteIt's chilly here too. Just walked Jack and wore my winter jacket, last week I had shorts on!! Love your tulips and especially the parrot one. Great cards and I'm not surprised they are flying out of your shop!!! Get to have something you enjoy so much, that's relaxing and sale-able. I know I love snail mail, I hope it never disappears!!!
Have a lovely week, xoRobin❤
The weather is so changeable Robin. It's still pouring here and looks like continuing until early next week. I too love snail mail there is nothing like opening up a card or letter. Keep warm and carry on crafting.

That's very sweet of you Debby :-)

Most things here are flowering, and getting a healthy bug removal and digging the ground around by the girls, who are now free ranging, albeit I did see Defi eyeing up my beautiful Cowslips for a nibble.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards and not surprised they sell out immediately, they are very beautiful.
Can't wait for more puppy photos. Laney x

Poor you Mia, there seems to have been so much flu around this year. Hope you are beginning to feel better? I do so love colouring..thanks for liking what I create! The garden is busy growing, between the heavy showers we are getting some lovely sunshine too. Have a good weekend, Billy sends a very loud purr all the way to Finland. Nearly May!!!

Dear Jane,
DeleteI am almost good now thank you dear friend, slowly but still! And a big thanks to sweet Billy-boy for the purrr, it definitely made my day! And oh yes, it's almost May and I tried to say happy LAST days of April earlier!

Mia
Hi Jane, I love your cheerful digi - stamps and how you incorporated them into such a pretty card! Very much a reflection of your wonderful garden, where I'm glad to see Billy continues to watch over things. You do have the loveliest flowers- I know you're enjoying them as much as I am from here! :o)
ReplyDeleteEverything is bursting into life here Michele and I love how light the evenings are too. It really recharges the batteries ;0) Lovely to see you back here, have a wonderful weekend. Billy will be indoors, I am sure, as we have been having torrential rain for the last few days.
ReplyDeleteJane x
I love all your bright flowers, Jane! We certainly have been having plenty of rain this week...so staying in and crafting is the best option! Your digi stamps look great fun, I would also enjoy the colouring in part, very relaxing and with pretty results!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend....hope the sun shines at least for a while.

Gorgeous card and cat, lovely colouring, thank you for joining us at I♥Promarkers this week
ReplyDeleteRuth x
Thanks for liking both of those Ruth ;0)
ReplyDeleteJane x
I really enjoyed seeing the different ways you've coloured the printed designs, I can understand why a stash of rubber stamps is very appealing. The finished card is lovely, no wonder they were all snapped up so quickly.
ReplyDeleteOur garden was looking great but has been so badly battered by the rain and wind, the tulips have been flattened. I'm not complaining, the ground really needs it and for once, everything is lovely and green around here. Bethx
It's fun seeing how they turn out Beth. I really enjoy colouring even though is takes some time to complete each one. The blanket of grey is still here today but as you say after all this welcome rain everywhere is really lush.
ReplyDeleteJane x
You have done a beautiful job with your coloring on the card. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with us at Little Darlings.
hugs, Janiel
Thanks Janiel. I must confess I really liked this card! I am rather a "blue" girl for colours.
