We so enjoyed our walks and on Tuesday I spotted this in on the ground....Bear was proud to show it off.
I wondered if there was a ripe conker inside, as it is still a few weeks early.
I was not disappointed as it revealed this little beauty to put on my window sill
I can never been bored finding my first conker treasure of the season and I immediately sent a Wattsapp to the family ;0)
Bear then guarded me in my studio as I set too making my O page....................
I thumbed through my dictionary looking for something to do with autumn and conkers and hit upon O for OCTOBER..of course. I could make a really golden autumnal page to represent the month. I found a lovely little poem on the Internet to use;
Listen!
The wind is rising, and
the air is wild with leaves.
We have had our summer evenings,now
for October eves!

I have an ancient leaf stamp which I brayered paints onto and stamped around the edges.
I have recently bought the new Tim Holtz mini leaf stencil and I used Wendy Vecchi's gold embossing pasted through it.
I LOVE this paste, it has such a gorgeous sheen
I die cut some birds on branches and trees (which I didn't use in the end) and altered them with paints adding texture with crackle paints.
I also made lots of leaves and coloured them with distress inks and then crackled them for texture.
I added some stamping with my Bronte script (Mark must bring this wonderful script back...it's discontinued at present) and the winter tree Visible Image stamps. I just used the branches of the tree around the edge of my page.
I let everything dry over night and then it was time to assemble my page.
and here is my final piece.
The dictionary definition is tucked under the branch.
The sheen on the gold embossing paste is gorgeous but very tricky to show in my photos...
and one last close up.
I would like to enter my art journal pages into the following challenges;
The Craft Barn dictionary challenge O mine is for October
Pixie's Snippets playground #245 I used lots of snippets to create my distress ink leaves

Crafty Catz anything goes with an autumnal twist
Frilly and Funkie things with wings
The Artistic Stamper 2/3 Monochromatic
The Emerald faeries 2/3 monchromaticEverybody Art leaves
Happy little stampers mixed media use distress inks. I used Distress Inks to create my leaves before crackling them.

Funnily enough summer has returned again here for a few more days and my garden hit 28c yesterday afternoon. Perhaps we still have a few more summer evenings to enjoy before the winds do rise and take the leaves off the trees. I'm off to celebrate my best friend's birthday over lunch today, enjoy your day too. Thanks for visiting and sending you sunshine if you don't have any.
Back soon,
Bye for now,
Jane x
