I have some really gorgeous purple petunia
My tomatoes are fruiting,
my heart sings when I see these little fellows growing.
I have planted sweet corn again, this one is in a pot and the ears have appeared already.
I have mange tout growing with my runner beans
and even in a hanging basket with a geranium
and I even spied a new rose blossom on my patio rose
I had a tidy up out in my tiny garden after work yesterday afternoon and of course my little helper was never far away
My sweet Billy rolling over and over and getting very dustybut loving the sunshine.
The weather yesterday afternoon was much better than forecast which was a real bonus to come home to after work. It's the weekend again, hooray. We have a quiet one planned catching up on lots of things at home and I hope to pot on my tomatoes to their final pots and pot up one last pot of flowers to have down near my studio. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and find time to enjoy some time outside whether in your own gardens or out and about.
My card today is inspired by my garden and uses one of Ignacio's wonderful roses printed images. This one is from the Henderson's blooms set available here
I decided to use some burlap to give it a real vintage garden feel. My granddad used to have sacks which he stored things gardening things in and even the smell of it transports me back to early childhood in my granddad's garden.
Here are a couple of close ups
I added a vintage flower charm too.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Ah yes Jane I know that smell you are talking about with the burlap!! :) Love your card, the image is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking lovely, I do envy you being able to grow sweet corn, not hot enough here even in the best of the weather, we need a Surrey climate! ;)
Our day has started off quite nice and no rain forecast so that's good.
Enjoy your weekend my friend,
V x
Goodness me Jane that brought back memories, funny how you forget things over time but like you I remember those sacks and there was always a very earthy smell to them.
ReplyDeleteGreat card with Ignacio's roses, have a lovely weekend.

Hi Jane! Enjoy your beautiful garden! I don't have any flowers this time. So nice to see Billy! It's fun how the cats don't mind getting dusty and dirtyf even they clean themselves so much. Nelli can be full of dry solid, sticks and stuff when she has been rolling like that. Happy Sunday! x Teje

Wow, your corn is way ahead of mine and your garden flowers are looking colourful and pretty. Nice to see Billy sunning himself, we are missing having a cat about the place here, there is one that hangs about the school parking lot every morning, I'm worried he's going to get squashed by a car but at the same time can't resist a tickle when we pass by. Hope the card does well! Bethx
ReplyDeleteYour garden's looking wonderful, Jane! Don't you just love being able to reap the rewards of beautiful flowers and tasty veg! I had my first crop of salad potatoes yesterday...delicious and we've already had a mountain of lettuce and a few good bowlfuls of strawberries!
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty garden inspired card using that lovely vintage seed packet image and the hessian adds such texture! Hugs, Lisa x
