This is a very photo heavy post so if you have come to see my Moment, just scroll to the bottom. Otherwise grab a cuppa and join me on my day out.
The weather was really perfect, scorching hot but our seats on No 1 court were under the canopy in the shade. Oh what bliss. We arrived at 10.20am and our first stop is always for a cappuccino...complete with Wimbledon logo in sprinkled chocolate.
We waited for the line drop at 10.30am and had a wonder around the outside courts first which were being set up.
I always love the floral displays, all in the All England Lawn Tennis club colours.
We checked the order of play
and went to our seats after lunch
which of course included a glass of Pimm's
They certainly needed the shade between games, the temperature reached nearly 40c on court
We were delighted to see him win, although he is now out of the championships :0(
We also saw a ladies singles match before we left around 7pm.
We donated our seats later on as they are resold for charity and it gave a chance for someone to see a late evening men's match.
Each time we have visited Wimbledon my Hb has bought me a dated Links of London charm so when I saw this advert outside the Court No 1 shop I knew where I wanted to head.
and I am really enjoying wearing it. On the back it has 2 engraved tennis racquets . Thank you M you spoil me.
We enjoyed ice cream too and had such a wonderful time there.
On the way back our bus was none other than an old route master....I can remember these buses as a child.
And even in the early evening the sky was blue and the sun shone.
Today after work I decided to make a "Moment" of our memorable day by using the inspiration of several great new July challenges. I cut a piece of mixed media card 9"X 8". I found myself "Wimbledon" colours amongst my distress inks and blended a background.
I added these daisy flowers through a stencil
I also added the sun rays using my Tim Holtz stencil and used my great Rubber Dance sun stamp. I also added some Little Claire's flower stamps using plum Archival ink
I then wanted to in some way incorporate tennis. I got the idea of trying to create tennis balls. I used bottle caps with white and yellow acyllic paints.
I also added some dots and "balls" using texture paste and more stencils
I stamped and coloured my new T. Holtz flowers...I finally succumbed, these have been on my wish list for months.
And after a few hours play this is my finished Moment
I was pleased with how my tennis balls came out, they still look quite organic with the flowers. My butterfly and Moment stamp are both by Visible Image
and one final shot
I would like to enter my Moment into the following great challenges
Scrap Across the World July They have an awesome mood board.
I was inspired by the butterfly and flowers. I also thought that we have walked many steps that day and the players even more. I also loved the sunset and created a sun and rays in my own Moment .
My Moment measures 9" X 8"
I also loved the rich vivid colours.
Our creative corner mexico moods such a great photo which I have incorporated into my Moment with my circles and bright vivid colours.

Thanks for getting to the end of my post. I did promise on Monday that I would share some of my Wimbledon photos with you. It is always such a great English day out.
The weather this week has been steaming and I must admit on Wednesday it really was too hot.....39c in my garden is not fun! It has been much more pleasant today with a cooling breeze. We hope it lasts until tomorrow as we are off to Daisy's nursery BBQ.
I am very excited that Tracy over at Noor UK has invited me to Guest Design for her for the month of July and I will be here on Monday with my first piece...to give a sneaky clue....it goes with Wimbledon very well ;0) I'm off now to watch some more tennis on TV.
Have a lovely weekend,
Bye for now,
Jane x
