We are enjoying a mellow weekend with the added bonus today that the sun has been shining and it was warm enough to enjoy a cuppa outside...bliss.
There are dancing daffodils everywhere I look at the moment
It really is my spring favourite
Drifts of them when I go out and about...
I have been so busy with DT work recently that I have had no crafty ME time. So today I decided to rectify this and looked at some challenges I have wanted to join in with. Lots are to do with spring. I have missed working in my art journal so I opened up the next page. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut out a daffodil. One of my fave challenges, A Vintage Journey is also celebrating it's 3rd birthday and inviting everyone "All aboard!"
PaperArtsy asked us to experiment with adding Infusions to different products. So I tried Sleight Blue in modelling paste (I don't own any grunge paste) first..
I wanted to create some swirling March wind...
Then I tore some packaging, added some PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco paint and sprinkled it on. I added a little spritz of water! Yum!
The Craft Barn Calendar poem is all about March winds and daffodils but with the addition of Mad Hares so I found a Graphic Fairy image and even managed to reverse the image...now for me, being so computer illiterate that is a real achievement. I fussy cut these out
and made a swirling spring background with inks and Infusions
blending on a little more spring colour to my March winds as I went
I just went with the inky flow....no plan really just a little playtime.
So then it was time to put my page together....
My art journal page was made for these challenges;
PaperArtsy infusions with paint
A Vintage Journey all aboard
The Craft Barn 12 Month challenge March this is my March wind stirring my dancing daffodil and Mad Hares!

I'm off out again to sit in the garden and enjoy some more warm rays while they last....
Back soon,
Bye for now,

Jane, what an awesome piece! I love all the elements you wove together here, from the lovely background to the rabbits and cardboard piece! I have to say I am jealous of your daffodils though - mine are afraid to push up any more than they are now - too cold and more snow coming, so I enjoyed your photos! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Simon Says Stamp for our Monday challenge! hugs, Maura
ReplyDeleteWOW the daffodils are beautiful! Ours just started blooming when we bot another snow storm (more to come over the next few days too) but I did manage to cut myself a bouquet before the white stuff fell! Anyways ... your project is fabulous and very creative! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Think Spring’ challenge! We hope you’ll come back often.

Jane, I love seeing your photos of daffodils; they are some of my favorites as well. What gorgeous drifts of spring color! Ours are all done here, except for the tiny ones that I'm sure go by a different name.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is another spring like beauty! It looks like you had a lot of fun in the craft room! I love the bunnies and the background is gorgeous!
PS I'll also say thank you for hopping 'All Aboard' with A Vintage Journey while I'm here! Hugs!
A great page, Jane! The background worked out beautifully and the hares look so real (perfect fussy cutting too). A lovely illustration of the month of March.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing how you put together some of your textures and backgrounds. You get such interesting and beautiful results.
ReplyDeleteLoving your swirling windy background and great addition of the hares. Daffodils really do cheer everyone up don't they!
ReplyDeleteThat torn packaging is gorgeous! Don't the daffodils look splendid in your photos, they always make me happy as they mean Spring is coming and we can leave Winter behind us. Great idea to have your hares holding up the verse too. This is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours and I adore the hares....all very springlike, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week my friend, fingers crossed for springtime weather.
