Jazz it up

 Good morning it's time for my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image. Today I can finally share the card I made for my Hb's birthday in January. He has weekly piano lessons and is really becoming a very accomplished player. We also recently watched the Disney film "Soul" and I knew the perfect stamps to use to make his card.

They were  Jazz it up

Sing

and of course the brilliant Happy birthday sentiment

This is what I got up to;
I added some Violet storms Infusions to mixed media card
I cut it to  down to 4 1/2 by 6 1/2" and stamped the keys from Jazz it up  around the edge in black Versafine.

I then added the music swoosh from the Sing set
Next up were the jazz players themselves which I stamped in red and blue Versafine Claire.
I added some white details and finally I stamped and matted up the sentiment onto black card.
It was then time to put everything together.
Here is my finished card;

 I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Allsorts Masculine
Stamping sensations 2/3 colour my world

A jazzy birthday

Good morning it is my darling Hb's birthday today so we will be off out to lunch to celebrate. We held our family party tea on Saturday which was lovely. It is always so good to get together. I made him a cake, no elaborate decoration this time, I save those for the grandbabies and "special" birthdays only now.
 Everyone likes a slice of my Victoria sandwich which has to have raspberry not strawberry jam as our family tradition.

Sending everyone a virtual slice 😍🍰😄

It is also time for my fortnightly design team make for Visible Image.
I decided to make my Hbs birthday card using some of their fab music stamps as he is learning to play the piano and is really sounding pretty cool! In the end I made 3 cards as I had a fiddle around with designs.
The products I used were;
Jazz it up
 Sing
 the clutch of stars from Rock out
and the birthday sentiment from Go to words set

Also these stencils; Distorted chess

and Strobes

This is what I got up to using these distress oxide inks.
I made an inky, drippy background on mixed media card.
I then added vintage photo oxide through the distorted chess stencil
and also the strobes stencil.
Then I stamped some of the stars using chipped sapphire.
After I was happy with my backgrounds I stamped the music stave using tulip red Versafine Claire and then red glitter embossed the singer.
On the other 2 backgrounds I red glitter embossed the jazz players.

I also stamped out the keyboard a few times, the birthday sentiment and then cut everything out.

I then put my designs together. The one below is the card I gave my Hb.
Here are all 3 of them.
and one last shot.
The music stamps really do make great cards for men or women.
I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges;

Craft stamper take it make it 1/3 January
As you like it 2/3 anything goes
Allsorts 2/3 more than a single word sentiment
Addicted to stamps and more 2/3 make your mark
A bit more time to craft 2/3 anything goes
More mixed media 2/3 anything goes

All that jazz

Good morning here we are at the start of a new week. What a week we enjoyed last week...wall to wall sunshine! My azalea looked so cheerful in the beams of sunlight in the garden

and it felt like summer is just around the corner.
The sun has popped back behind the clouds for now but I am sure it will be back very soon. It's also time for my Monday design team make for Visible Image. I needed some male birthday cards down at Dotty's Teahouse so I knew just the right stamps to get out.
Jazz it up
and a sentiment from
I added some distress inks to my craft sheet; chipped sapphire, tumbled glass and hickory smoke, a spritz of water and dipped in some watercolour card.
Once it was dry I cut it down and stamped the jazz players using Twilight Versafine Clair ink.  I stamped the large stars from
Rock out  and the bubbles
in gold and
  the sentiment on top in black Versafine which I clear embossed.

Finally I stamped the keyboard in black Versafine for the jazz players to stand on.
I matted and layered it onto gold and black cardstock.

Here is my finished card.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges;

A gem of a challenge 3/3 anything goes
crafty catz 2/3 anything goes
Uniko 1/3 anything goes/masculine

Jazzing it up at the Ally Pally Crafting show

Good morning, after a hectic weekend, including a flying experience (yes seriously) and visiting the Crafting Show at Alexander Palace, I am here with my weekly Visible Image Design Team inspiration. It was so wonderful to catch up with Helen and Mark Alexander, aka Mr and Mrs Visible Image yesterday at Ally Pally. Their stand is always so "eye catching" and it's such fun to see mine and my teamies' work displayed.
 It was also fab to have seen every single stamp and stencil they sell on display. That's a lot of crafting goodies!
Ally Pally is such a cool building and although it was a wet day, the palm court is a warm relaxing place to enjoy a cuppa or lunch.

 Inside the famous stained glass window is a joy to see too.
Ally Pally also hosts lots of other cool exhibitions and musical events so today my
DT make features the amazing
Jazz it up stamp music set
I made a series of cards, all slightly different.

I used the keyboard as a border and the 2 jazz players as the focals. I stamped the keyboards in Black Versafine ink which I clear embossed to get some texture. The jazz players were just stamped.

I used a couple of sentiments...
Make a wish from Own it!

and also the Happy Birthday from the Go to words set

I also added some back ground music stamping in grey ink from Music speaks, keeping to a monochrome colour scheme (this works really well for male cards). Just using random first and second generation stamping adds some extra interest to the card
and the large star from Rock Out!
Here are 3 of them

Below is a close up of one so that you can see the background stamping details. I added a pop of red with a couple of the star stamps.

These stamps work so well for those "always hard to make" male birthday cards.

I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges;

Moving along with the times black, white and one colour
Simon says stamp a trio of something
Penny Black and more black,white and one more colour
Fussy and Fancy 1/3 add a sentiment
Sweet stampin 1/3 embossing heat or dry I used heat embossing on the keyboards
Simon says stamp Wednesday happy birthday

Thanks for stopping by and for all your very kind comments you take the time to leave me. I will try to get my photos uploaded from my flying experience on Saturday very soon...it was awesome.

Today though I am back in London celebrating the last day of Maternity leave for my darling daughter over lunch.
